It's as simple as differences in attitudes. Tito was very fan friendly and a guy everyone liked due to his personality, charisma, fighting style, and the fact he always liked to interact with his everyone.

Cotto is the type that basically want's to be left alone and is bother/annoyed by people coming up to him. But yeah your right, every peurto rican boxing fan I know loves tito and just respects Cotto as a good fighter. Tito would have filled that stadium and Cotto personality, along with the fact that he just got destroyed in 2 outta his last 4 fights really hurt his ticket sales.

it has a lot to do with tito's personality. he was very personable & loved to interact with the fans. miguel is quite the opposite. he's very introverted. it also helps that tito won the oscar fight while cotto has lost his 2 biggest fights.

This isn't something new. First off, Miguel is not in his prime, don't know why you put Trinidad in his prime would of sold out Yankee Stadium. Had Miguel beat Margarito, Pac, or both he would of put a log of butts in the stadium. Secondly and most importantly, yes PR's do not support Cotto like Trindad and we have know that for a very long time. Trinidad was a man of the people in PR. He was amongst the crowds, kissed babies, and was one of the "people". Miguel keeps to himself but he has much pride for his people and that should never be forgotten. They are two very different characters.

1. cotto was nearly beaten to death by plaster. look at his face, he couldnt have continued even if he wanted to. he was done. its easy to say that hes a quitter from a computer chair. victor ortiz is a quitter, hasim rahman is a quitter, dont put cotto in that same category.

2. tito also never fought a manny pacquiao.

i think to say that cotto didnt put up a good fight against margarito is ******. he was dominating until those plaster shots started to take effect. also margarito's career isnt over - there is a good chance he still makes it to the hall of fame, and manny pacquiao is a higher ATG than anyone tito even fought.
