Cotto will never have the SHINE that TRINIDAD had...

Ricans don't stand behind Cotto like they did for Tito. Trust me. Tito in his prime would have filled Yankee stadium last week! Even this rican chick I'm knockin' down told me that in PR they don't **** with Cotto like that. She said he's not really a "PEOPLEs CHAMP" type of fighter, but more of a loner. Idk. But he really has nothing on TITO in the fans department... Maybe if he would of beat Pac but IDK... what do you think?

I dont think this is a Prime Cotto that we'll see June 5th.

Maybe his star power has diminished?

Yeah I don't think Cotto will beat up 22 year olds with barely any experience and have people thinking he used hand wraps in a lot of his fights.

To be fair you would never see another Tito again. His run from 99-01 is the greatest run I seen in the last 20 years. Total beast, beloved, charismatic, exciting. I mean it was really hard NOT to be a fan of his.

It was impossible not to hate on Tito. Especially around that time period. As far as that shine goes it would be very hard for any fighter period to get that.

It's as simple as differences in attitudes. Tito was very fan friendly and a guy everyone liked due to his personality, charisma, fighting style, and the fact he always liked to interact with his everyone.

Cotto is the type that basically want's to be left alone and is bother/annoyed by people coming up to him. But yeah your right, every peurto rican boxing fan I know loves tito and just respects Cotto as a good fighter. Tito would have filled that stadium and Cotto personality, along with the fact that he just got destroyed in 2 outta his last 4 fights really hurt his ticket sales.

Yeah, this was established before. Cotto is not quite a people person, he keeps to himself and gets the job done. He still has a strong foundation of support.

Tito beating Oscar cemented his legacy IMO, unfortunately for Cotto he haven't had that type of win were the odds was against him and he somehow came out with a big win like Tito did, people doubted that Tito would even have a chance if the fight went to the Cards especially after the way Ike Quartey was ROBBED earlier that year and Tito got the win

Cotto stamina always been his weakness though and it could be a problem once again against Foreman who he will have to chase the entire fight, if Cotto gets tired against Foreman and can't do no damage to him early then he is going to lose

Who gives a ****? I find Cotto a far more skilled fighter than Trinidad anyways! Sure Cotto has the persnality of a pavement but at least he is no cheater, and everything he's achieved is due to his hard work and will.
