Comments Thread For: Shannon Briggs Destroys Rob Calloway in One

At the Norfolk Scope Arena in Norfolk, ******ia, former heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs (51-5, 45 KOs) knocked Rob Calloway (70-12-2, 57 KOs) down three times in the first round before the fight was stopped by the referee. The ******ia Pilot reports the fight being stopped at the 98-second mark. It was the second fight for Briggs in less than a week. He is staying busy at least, well sort of. It only took him twenty seconds to stop Dominique Alexander last Saturday in New York.

He should fight tua, peter, solis, valuev or adamek to sort out the pretenders from the actual contenders so who ever wins actually stands a chance againts one of the klits.

Yeah, I think I remember reading an article where Briggs said he wanted to fight like every 2 to 3 weeks or something and that he was gonna take his time and not rush into a title shot. Sounds good.

I wonder if he'll ever fight someone with a pulse again.

That 3 fights in a month I think....not bad...even though they are lesser opposition it's still good he's active & getting in shape.last week he was down to 268.before his comeback he was 272 vs ibragimov.if he can get below 260 we all may have to take him seriously.I want him to fight the younger Europeans...I'm sure dimitrenko, boytsov don't want any part of Briggs.get povetkin in with him...since no one knows if povetkin can take a big punch, here's the chance.I'd rather see Briggs fight solis or any European contender.since so many bash Briggs, tua,Rahman, grant let's see how the euro & new contenders do vs these guys.Briggs vs tua would be cool but Id rather put the so called up & comers like botysov & dimitrenko in with Briggs.Briggs vs either klitschko...he actually is bigger than both which would be a nice change.

the best part about the Briggs, grant;Rahman, tua comebacks is these guys all were legit contenders so they will start bumping out guys like boytsov, dimitrenko, povetkin, sexton, chisora, valuev, chagaev,etc...these guys will have to step up & fight or they will be pushed to the back of the line.liskhovich, tua,Rahman, grant,Briggs combined have 4 world titles & several title shots so they immediately become title contenders...I'm glad because I want these clowns like kingpin to have to earn a shot.
