People just wailing away at each other is really all a street fight is and yes I think boxing and kickboxing would help you very much so but MMA prepares you even more. Thats all I was trying to say.

          yeah i know!

just wanted to add more fuel to this boxer vs karate/mma and every other combat thread

the bottom line is we will probably never see a elite mma fighter cross over to boxing and have same success he previously did and the same goes for the boxer going to mma

two different sports not sure why people get caught up on trying to prove which is better

            that karate person was dumb.

He shouldve used his reach with kicks to the knees and legs. Boxer wouldve been defenseless against it, and wouldve tried to reach with long punches leaving him open

Michael: So? I’ve beat up black belts.

Jim: How’d you know they were black belts?

im sorry but karate is not a good representation of kickboxing, or fighting with kicks....

if were talking legit kickboxing... rob kaman would **** up anybody

the dude had the strongest leg kicks, that would hurt, knockdown his opponets.... look him up he has legit kickboxing skills.

Semmy Schilt- is a 6f11 kickboxing machine.. (taller then the klitschkos)
                  Peter Aerts
                  Ernesto Hooste
                  Bonjasky
                  Ramon Dekkers

they would **** all boxers up (im a bigger boxing fan, but im not dumb to admit that there not the best fighters in the world)

as to the argument, that a boxer training in takedown defense in 4 months.... .ok 4 months is a short period, you cant just get good, and dont have good ime...

a elite boxer training a whole year on takedown defense would not be able to stop the likes of a Greco-Roman olympian wrestler like Randy Courture

or be able to stop an Alexander Keralin from taking them down

Didn't look like those karate guys had much real full contact sparring experience judging by the way they threw punches n kicks. The more experienced hands on fighters won in that vid not just coz of boxing.
