I think P.Will and his team are trying to position themselves into the sweepstakes for a Floyd Mayweather showdown.

They know that with Floyd Mayweather's standards for opponents, the list is narrow for who he is gonna fight next, if it's not Pacquiao.

With P.Will back at 147 officially, without saying that he is just ready & able to make 147, he has to be considered. P4P top 10 guy, only one loss, just beat a future Middleweight Champ. Floyd could offer up the PPV excuse, but who besides Pacquiao and Floyd is a PPV attraction anyway? Plus, Floyd has worked with P.Will's promoter before, for the baldomir fight and they got along just fine so it could be easy to make.

Just as long as P.Will get in one fight at 147 against whoever to break into the welterweight rankings OFFICIALLY.
Williams brings nothing to the table against Floyd. Beating Williams is not going to add to his resume. Williams was out-boxed by Martinez and Kermit the Frog. He got hurt by Kermit the frog and should've won the fight. Martinez taxed that ass and should've won his fight against Williams, but the judges decided to score the fight even before the fight took place.

He was out-boxed by Martinez and Cintron and got his ass beat by Quintana.

Floyd would rather fight Martinez because Martinez has belts that Floyd wants. Floyd would add to his resume by beating the best boxer at 154 and 160 in his prime and at his best weight class.

I doubt he is going to find a viable dance partner at 147 anyway, 154 is stacked and if he doesn't want to get spanked by Sergio there are plenty of good fighters there for him to fight.

How does beating Williams NOT add to his resume?

            Williams-Floyd is a legit fight.

Williams is way overrated. He was out-boxed by Quintana, Kermit the frog, and Martinez.

Martinez would add a lot more to his resume by beating the best fighter at 154/160, winning the belts, and beating Martinez in his prime.

Edit: You better believe people are going to say Floyd beat a weight drained Williams if they fought at 147.

We have already seen Williams outboxed whats the point in seeing him get outboxed again?

                      That is your opinion.

                      Facts are:

                      He beat Martinez
                      KO'd Quintana in one round.
Beat Cintron and made him quit.

Why do you keep mentioning his loss to Quintana? Who cares? How many losses does Shane have? Marquez? Baldi? Oscar? Gatti? Seeing a pattern here.
