He says its not his first choice, not that he doesn't want it.

Besides, its not Martinez physically leaving the division. Williams is.

Wise choice. Williams was on his way to getting ktfo by Cintron and would lose to most people at 54'.

He's got no skills and Goosen knows Martinez would abuse him in a rematch even worst than he did in the first fight.

It's only a matter of time before PWill gets KOed. Maybe by moving to 147 they think they can prevent it?

        Dumb move IMO.

There's nothing in that fight that would motivate Mayweather imo. I see him going up to 160 and being motivated to beat the lineal/Ring/WBC/WBO champ and being champ in 6 different weight classes. What does he get with Williams? not even money. Plus haters can say that "Quintana already schooled him an even Cintron was beating Williams (before he dived out of the ring)". If I was a manager or promoter I would say Williams is a horrible fight for Floyd in every kind of way. Martinez is the way to go if the Pacquiao fight does not happen.

Agree with most of this, although it's a bit extreme.

I know it is, but I'm in no mood to take prisoners today. Williams is way overrated on here.

I told everyone Cintron would have his way with him and nobody believed it.

Williams moving down to 47' is a testament to that.

You're right, he could take Martinez at 160 because he is The Middleweight Champ. History in the making.

But with Williams, the only way he gets a crack at Mayweather would be at 147, because unlike Sergio he isn't a champ and Floyd doesn't get to make history. With that said, Williams is making a smart move in compromising & moving down 147. So it's either Martinez at 160 for the title OR the guy who beat Martinez at 147, who also happens to be a Top 10 P4P guy in Williams.

There is nobody else left thats justifiable.

Not surprising, he opted out of a rematch with Margarito as well.

I would love to see Mayweather vs Williams the punisher is a tough fight for anybody at 147lbs.
