It's all smoke until HBO executives step in and broker the final deal!!!

Its called negoatiation... of course he will go in demanding a few things so he can get as much as he can, he wont just go in asking for what was agreed upon before... they will just have to renegotiate things. Anyway, lets wait and see what happens, last time Team Pacquiao tried to make up a few lies about Team Mayweather about the negotiations so I wouldn't put it past them to do it again. Lets just wait and see how it all pans out first.

I see a Mid-November/Early-December date in Las Vegas, NV. The purse will eventually be settled 50/50 because it will give both sides the public perception that they each respectively really want to fight. An OST cut-off of ten days out will be agreed upon.

The 50/50 split was in the cards before and the main reason Team mayweather is seeking 55/45 TODAY is because the old offer of 50/50 was REJECTED by Team Pacquaio; one has to negoiate this way to be a sucesssful sports agent/lawyer. For that basic K premise, the OST is NOW being negoiated with no official cut-off date; Team Mayweather has to ensure that they get some 'carrots' out of this new stage of negoiations because they have the upper hand as the party whose offer was REJECTED after ACCEPTING all of Team Pacquaio's demands.

10 day cut-off and 50/50 split is my guess and if it takes HBO executives to finalize this mega-money maker then don't think for a second that HBO won't step in to seal this deal

Well, I can see nobody is listening. Manny fans think 50-50 is fair, Floyd fans think he should get all the money (especially since Floyd is now Floyd "I aint got no mo money" Mayweather. Bottom line is, Mayweather needs the money, Pacquiao does not. If Floyd demands the lions share and doesn't get it, he doesn't get d**k. He says he make $20 million fighting anyone but he didn't get that for Marquez and he won't get that for Sergio Martinez or Paul Williams. So other than Pac, who does Floyd fight? Pacman already stated one more fight and I retire a billionaire Filipino with another job in public office already secured. Pac doesn't get the $40 million payday either but come on, who needs it more. The $20 million (closer to $10 million after taxes) paid off his debt. So he is debt free but still has no money of his own. I dont think Floyd is afraid of anybody, he just wants to be paid to take the big risks. I understand but I think if he each fighter is confident they can win, it should be 60-40 to the winner (that's a $8 million dollar switch on a $80 million total purse)... otherwise I think 50-50 is fair....

@Vito, I didn't say Pacman made more for Cotto than Floyd made for Marquez.. Where did I say that.... I said Floyd did not make $20 million for Marquez but never did I say Pacman made more for Cotto... My point was they both need each other to make that much money. Neither guy can fight anyone other than each other or will have to settle for significant less money, less attractive fights

Once floyd knew what the ppv totals were it was obvious his demands would change. When the fight was originally planned, Manny had more leverageto determine the terms and negotiated (weight penalty ring size, glove size, 50-50 split) like he had more leverage.

After May 1, its clear floyd has more leverage. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure he would negotiate from a position of strength.

Co-sign. Pull couinter and the Paciacs need to go to law school so they can understand basic negoiation principles.
