        What a ******ed thread.

Seriously did the opening poster even set foot in uk before? lol

man americans are always talking **** about racism in uk.

Sure it's very likely there is racism in the uk but at very minor levels, same as in usa. I mean you guys had the KKK as well as alabama where the rednecks hate all non-whites.

Also as u go up north of england u get more working class people who might be racist because they r just pissed off with their lives. How do u think ****** fanatics came about? they got recruited by people who could see their vulnerabilities and could exploit it.

I've lived in the england (london) all my life and there is very little racism here. I'm chinese myself and got white and indian mates and yeah u do get the occassional arsehole who likes to say a racist term but hey that's like every 15 years or so.

To be honest, uk hasn't got major racism issues. look at the general election...the BNP won nothing.

        nuff said

dunno about racism in america cause never lived there but tbh there most likely will be quite a few ppl blaming 9-11 on everyday ******s...logically that's the case.

Btw uk is definately not a haven for racism lol. look at naseem hamed...he was loved by the brits cause of his personality

naz was more popular than khan...both asian but different personalities
        personally i loved Naz
he was ****y but he backed it up and made himself a superstar
Khan turned alot of ppl off with his delusional and arrogant comments...and then called everyone racist.

Plus pacman is loved in the uk...all my white mates and others just love him...always packed at the pub for his fights.

Anyway please don't post about things if u don't have experience of them

Its been pointed out several times that he is far more popular than white british fighters like Froch and Mitchell.

common sense and living in reality tells me this. im not saying he isnt popular in the uk or that the majority of british are racist but come on man do you honestly believe that if he was white and british he wouldnt have more of a following? you can choose to live in a fantasy world where nationalism and racism dont exist but in reality they both do. that doesnt mean that you as an individual or the majority of you would like him more or less if he was of a different backround but in these times you cant honestly believe that a pakistani ****** will be accepted by all brits as one of their own. if you need evidence just take a look at waazas sig and the statements some of your fellow countrymen made.

So my question to the British is if Amir Khan was white would you like him more?

I hate to say it but the UK seems like its not at the same level as the US when it comes to race relations and tolerance, Heck just look at the US president.

American fans are pure boxing fans. They dont bring prejudice into the boxing arena. For instance Manny is oriental yet he gets great support in america. That would never ever happen in britain. Only place manny would get support in the UK is in china town or Chinese restaurant.

That being said I know that Britian is a very divided country, There is no such thing as "British", You are either English, Scottish, Irish, Welsh, or a derogatory term for anything else. Perhaps the problem the UK faces is that they have been unable to define a national identity. For instance in the US there are Italian-Americans, ***ish-Americans, Arab-Americans, African-Americans, Latino-Americans....But are all still Americans.
Man, and I thought white Europeans were less racists than white American. Don't believe all the hype TS about the US.

Lol come on. If Prince Hamed was a white UK fighter would he of had been more popular? Hell no lol. Prince had charisma, power, speed and hate him or love him was straight up fun to watch. A complete package which Amir is not.
