White people are past black people not being accepted...now its the black and white people looking at the Asian people as if "what you doing in our country, your not really english/british" yet black people are? lol

It is a culture thing, if he was black or white, he would be the next pacman/mayweather of the UK

And any asian people that think hes good, are "just hyping him" because hes asian lol

I hate to say it but the UK seems like its not at the same level as the US when it comes to race relations and tolerance, Heck just look at the US president.

American fans are pure boxing fans. They dont bring prejudice into the boxing arena. For instance Manny is oriental yet he gets great support in america. That would never ever happen in britain. Only place manny would get support in the UK is in china town or Chinese restaurant.

That being said I know that Britian is a very divided country, There is no such thing as "British", You are either English, Scottish, Irish, Welsh, or a derogatory term for anything else. Perhaps the problem the UK faces is that they have been unable to define a national identity. For instance in the US there are Italian-Americans, ***ish-Americans, Arab-Americans, African-Americans, Latino-Americans....But are all still Americans.

YOU'RE A ****ING IDIOT. how many times have you actually been to britain?

what is with all the race **** on the board, seems like many of you watch boxing just to have bragging rights against other race of people...that is not what boxing is about

if Khan is good in the ring he will get his respect and he will get more fans

And Khan is popular in the UK.
You can say he's not as popular as Hatton, then again Amir has a big British Pakistani/****** following Ricky didn't get (because he wasn't ****** or Pakistani). There are racists on both sides.

What matters is, Khan is the most popular fighter in the UK at the moment, if he gets a couple more decent wins under his belt he will be as big as a star as Hatton. All the people I know say the same thing, "Amir Khan, good boxer, didn't really like him as he use to be a bit ****y, since he got knocked out he's changed his attitude and has won some good fights".

If Amir was white, inevitably I'd say he'd be more popular, much more popular? No. Like I said, he has a huge British ****** following, those who weren't really interested in boxing have found a fellow British ****** who represents them in a positive light, so of course they follow him.

And when Khan made those comments he was a bit younger and maybe naive. I remember his Dad came out and refuted what his son had said.

I'm pretty sure he'd be more accepted in America if he was American, that's for sure. He can always cross over by not talking so much shyt, though. That's for sure.

If Khan were white, Ross Greenburg wouldn't have let him on HBO so soon, especially after the KO loss.

It took Calzaghe about 20 successful title defenses and Hatton was about 40-0 before Greenburg allowed them on.

Greenburg doesn't like white boxers from anywhere, and he especially dislikes those from the UK.
