What does ANY version of Cotto do that would trouble Mayweather?

I just dont see how someone who is that slow and easy to hit, even pre-margarito Cotto was slow and easy to hit. Zab Judah was able to bust Cotto up and all Zab throws is a left hand. This is something that as a fan of boxing is ridiculous to even think that a fighter with Cotto's style could beat Mayweather.

I just dont see what advantages a fighter like Cotto could have vs Floyd, he has a nice jab but Floyd is wayy to fast for Cotto and would come over the top everytime he threw the jab, once he timed it.
Who has more advantages in this style matchup?

you are quite right.........Cotto has good timing with his jab.....for that reason i see him giving Floyd problems for 3 to 4 rds at least....but he is too slow, Floyd will adjust and start throwing his own jab.....and also pull countering off cotto's jab, because his reach is longer....and let's face it....there is no way Cotto will get out of the way of Floyd's punches when he throws them.....he moves like his feet are in quicksand......and to top it off he doesn't have the best chin.......Pac tapped him on the button and he went down........

Cotto's body punching can be devestating, but Floyd's precision and speed would stop Miguel getting any work done there.

dont get me wrong , floyd would have beat him UD imo, too fast too skilled but cotto is no pushover and was on a good run of wins ,floyd should have fought him , the credit manny is getting right now could have been floyds , people try to pull down manny's win over cotto by saying he wasnt the same after margs but at least he fought him

Floyd Mayweather Sr. once told me "its not about speed its about timing" and Cotto is a master at timing his opponents.

On paper you would not give a guy like JL Castillo a shot in hell against Floyd yet in their first fight he gave FM absolute hell and there are alot of very educated boxing fans who believe Castillo deserved the nod in that fight.

Even in the second contest Castillo gave Floyd all he could handle. Now-In my mind Cotto is a suped up version of Castillo and I think the Cotto we saw enter the ring against Margarito would have given Floyd a ton of problems.

I make no prediction just laying it out there that it is highly unlikely of a cakewalk...

Floyd would have had his hands full....but he didnt fight Cotto and he should have-that much we all should be able to agree upon.

Iv'e been rewatching some Floyd fights lately and i have to say his ability to take shots downstairs is better than his chin.........he gets hit with some big body shots in some of his fights and he never gives any sign it hurt him.......

If Cotto prime or shot would fight Mayweather. It would look like the Baldomir fight and everyone would discredit it because Mayweather took a A class fighter and made him look D class.
