Im just pointing out that Floyd had the chance to fight him but didn't.

      FYI.... It doesn't work.
You can't compare the two fighters. Miguel in 2008 could do a lot more than Baldomir. A much better body puncher, much heavier handed puncher, a better boxer, a bigger bully, better footwork, fuck better EVERYTHING. Since then imo Miguel has lost confidence and fights a bit slower so it would be an easy matchup now but a few years ago it would of been a good fight. Regardless, it is nothing like Baldomir and not comparable.

baldomir was just a tough journeyman who struck it big against a mental midget in judah , skillswise floyd was just on a different level to baldo altogether , it just shows you need to be more than just big to beat floyd
I still stand by that floyd should have fought and imo beat cotto , fair enough you'd still get a few idiots who would have discredited the win but real boxing fans know how good cotto was then

Yes, because little ass Floyd is going to crack Miguels chin..... Margarito a big puncher and a big fighter really couldn't crack it. He wore Miguel down but he didn't really deter him till the very end. Baldo did have a better chin but people blow Miguels chin out of proportion. His chin is pretty solid.

            Yes it is.

Because I never said they fight the same and I never said they had the same style.

I said, Cotto would be expected to do the same thing Baldomir was expected to do.

Or better yet, how about I ask you this.

What should Cotto have done to beat Mayweather if the fight were to happen?

Prime, shot, green. I don't care what version you choose. But I do know one thing, your going to say the same thing people said Baldomir was supposed to do.

How good was he then? What did he do that would cause Mayweather trouble? he is a 1 handed fighter, with no head movement, footwork or defense...

Who knows? Floyd was too much of a puss to ever step into the ring. One thing I know is people get this bright idea that Floyd is so speedy that he would do what Pac did to Cotto and that simply is not true. Floyd doesn't throw a lot of punches like Pac or Margarito and doesn't have the heavy hands of Marg or the electric power in his punch that Pac has. Floyd might of beat him, I don't know but he wouldn't of stopped Miguel and the fight could of simply been the same as Shane V Cotto except Shane at least had the power to make Cotto wear down and forced him to use his boxing skills. IMO, Floyd has gotten better in his last few fights, if he hadn't I'd say this fight would still be a toss up.

It's still an unbelievably ******ed comparison.

Cotto would pressure him...sure. But he'd be pressuring him with a COMPLETELY different set of tools than Baldomir, to make the comparison is just asinine. Speed, footwork, punching power, timing.......NOTHING is the same. Absurd to compare to completely different fighters just because they both pressure opponents.

Floyd beats any version of Cotto. A fight with the '07/'08 version of Cotto looks very similar to the DLH fight. Cotto will pressure, give Floyd some problems early on with the jab and win some rounds on pure aggression.

Floyd will then figure him out and sweep the last half of the fight, and most likely make it look easy.
