Who knows what the matchup would have been like earlier. What we do know is that Cotto fell in love with brawling and paid for it against pacman. You can't go out there all macho with no real gameplan against elite boxers.

      LMAO at this thread!!!

People comparing Baldomir to Cotto, Floyd's punching power to Margarito's and Pac's. Boy this is going in a ******ed direction!

Anyways, Jab,timming,Pressure and southpaw stance. Things that have been succeslful against Mayweather that Miguel poses!!

All i know is that at 140, Floyd would have ruined Cotto. It would have been a more competitive version of the Bruselles fight.

Cotto could have given Floyd a good deal of trouble, people are dismissing Cotto because Pacquiao walked through him, but Pac is a whole other fighter. Cotto has an excellent jab with solid timing, and he can apply pressure to the body, although I think Floyd would eventually neutralize that. Cotto can adjust but he can't do it quite as effectively as Floyd. I think Floyd would win a UD and probably hurt Cotto a few times, but I think it would be a more competitive fight than Mayweather-Mosley.

This is something that as a fan of boxing is ridiculous to even think that a fighter with Cotto's style could beat Mayweather.

I just dont see what advantages a fighter like Cotto could have vs Floyd, he has a nice jab but Floyd is wayy to fast for Cotto and would come over the top everytime he threw the jab, once he timed it.

Who has more advantages in this style matchup?
I think Cotto is awesome. I do not think he would beat Floyd...but it is possible. The one thing I think would bother Floyd would be the his signature attack, the left hook to the body.

I don't see any advantages for Cotto.

It would proberbly have been like the Floyd-Mosley fight.

                Maybe abit more intense though.

They'd say Cotto gassed because he'd stop throwing the jab. Obviouslty the reason would be because he is getting tagged with counter right hands and that pull counter.
