I think Wlad needs a better sense of when to finish someone off, instead of waiting until the last 5 seconds (though it was a great KO) against Chambers.Yeah, it's the opponents who are fault too - no doubt. It's easy for some of us to sit here and say someone should go all out to win when it's not us in there being hit with heavy punches. But even still, it's one of the problems. That version of Briggs who gave it his all against Lewis and went out on his shield is the sort of fighing mentality that some of us are looking for and not getting with these Klitschko opponents. It does take two to tango in these fights. I guess the Klitschkos could mix it up a bit and throw some more brutal shots though.
That's leaving it a bit late.
I think Sosnowski will mix it with Vitali. He's got a lot of Polish pride.Last edited by ChopperRead; 05-18-2010, 06:36 PM.Comment

Excellent analysis of Wlad's style.Yeah, the real problem with Wlad is he takes about 3 rounds too long to realize when his opponent is ready to go. That being said at least he gets around to taking them out unlike Mayweather.
We saw in the last round of the Chambers fight how good he can look when he lets his hands go at will. You have to wonder if Chambers would have even lasted 2 rounds against the Wlad that beat Mercer.
I can see why he would be hesitant though, when your opponent has run around for 6 runs and hasnt thrown many punches and you are already up 6-0 it just doesn't pay to do something foolish. I think Wlad is such a cerebral fighter that he oftentimes assumes other fighters take a cerebral approach as well. In this sense I think he worries about opponents setting traps for him late in fights when in reality his opponents are just thinking "God I want to see my family again, how many more rounds are left?"Comment

I agree. Sosnowski obviously takes this seriously, which you couldn't really say for Arreola or Johnson.I already have more respect for this guy than the fat yanks who fought Klitschko. Taht's how a real HW titlist should look like, not like an overweight retired football player.
Contrary to Fateolla or Chambers, this guy trained hard and got himself in shape for the fight of his life.Comment

One big problem with Sosnowski is he's only 6'2" and Vitali is close to 6'8". Nice to see a heavyweight actually get in shape for a title shot, though.Comment
