Id like to see him fight Berto.

He wouldnt pay the sancioning fees for the WBA belt of Mosleys, but im sure he would happily add another WBC to the collection.

Not to mention he is a partner of Golden Boy so with all of that they were able to create a real viable hype for the fight. With Sergio this won't be the case. Sure he is a great fighter but you need much more than that to do over a mill PPV wise.
Floyd can put up good numbers without a star opponent. A good 6 months of promotion can generate this fight around one million. You have to remember people pay to see Floyd win, his haters buy his fights, and the casual fans also want to watch him win or lose.

Let me ask you this.... do you think he can do better than Manny vs. Clottey? Would it be a success for Floyd if he sold more than Manny vs. Clottey?

See I agree that is what I am thinking. I don't think he would do a mili with Martinez either.

He does not have the name recognition as Shane Mosley. Now Shane was not a draw. But, casual did recognize the name.

          They won't recognize Martinez name.

And, Martinez does not really have a country behind him like Hatton and JMM did.

I just didn't want to say all this. Because, it would like I am hating but since you're a Floyd fan can express myself better now with your post.

I actually think it could. Floyd is just a really big star. He will be fighting a guy most will be picking to beat him. Including all the experts. This is must see TV.

This would be a big deal.

I agree Floyd can put up good numbers but not without an opponent who brings something viable to the table. No one man is an island. Believe it or not he does need a dance partner or an angle. Sergio doesn't present either at the moment to make their fight do over a mill. I think their fight would do around the 700,000 like Pac vs Clottey which i thought was a success or around 650,000. I would still consider it a success because i understand the dynamcis but you know Floyd wouldn't and his haters would have a ball with that one.

Even the 24/7 he doesn't have a guy that speaks English. I doubt Martinez would drink his own piss. Martinez does not have arguably two wins against the best P4P fighter. They won't fight in Martinez homeland independence day. And, Mexicans out number any other Latin South America country in the U.S. Martinez does not have a legendary trainer.

I just don't know who successful that 24/7 would really be to the general public. Who don't know who Martinez is.

Mexicans in the U.S knew who JMM was. He was the best Mexican fighter at the time. JMM drinking his own piss made national headlines.

I don't see him making a mili with Martinez. Is very difficult to make a mili Burner. You need the right fighter at the right time and everything has to go right.

Hardcore fans with buy it. But, the casual fans maybe? I mean Oscar didn't go a mili everytime.

Totally agree with you. I think people have to be more objective despite being a fan of a fighter. Woudn't be hating by you. I'm a just an honest fan of boxing Jro. Don't really like to get caught up in the arguments but tend to based on how i see things no hate from me on any particular fighter.
