I would have a problem with it. If I felt Martinez would get weakened for making 155. If Martinez was drained I would diss Floyd for that.

But, Martinez can still make 154 so fighting him at 155 even for a MW title. I don't see what would be wrong with that. Floyd is not a big guy. He is a WW that is good enough to compete with ANY JMW in the planet. But, having a fight at 160 even though Martinez is still a small MW. Floyd would be even a smaller MW.

There are weight-classes for a reason. Fighting at 155 levels the playing field out a little bit IMO.

Only reason I ****ted on Manny for that is because he already fought at 147 and was blazing fast and pretty strong so it was no reason to cap Cottos weight.

Floyd aint fought at 160 yet. And Martinez aint just get Knocked out either.

          Jros,

Its about Martinez having the advantages that a MW champion should have.

              I agree with this....

I have a feeling this will go down.

Martinez has a nice little fanbase.
              He'll take the tests.
He wont care about getting a short split.
The gloves, the ring, the weight, the venue Floyd can pick everything here.

I get your points. If Floyd was fighting Pavlik for the belts and had it at 155 I wouldnt support that because Pav cant make that weight.

Martinez already conceeded everything to Floyd in his latest interview.

He said its an honor and hed do whatever Floyd told him. Its not like Martinez is putting up a fight about everything like Cotto was.

Martinez just wants to get paid. He said anywhere from 154 to 160 he'll fight him.

Maybe the commission and the sanctioning bodies and say.

From here on out. To fight for the title you would have to make the weight limit.

The maximum and minimum would be the exact same weight. If Pac can't make 147 then he can't fight for the title go back down to 140. If Floyd or Martinez can't make 160 then fight at 154 for the WBC title.

The maximum weight and the minimum weight would be the exact same weight. But, only when the title is on the line. And, that would eliminate all these catchweight for titles that you guys don't like.

Because, right now anything from 135-140 is a JWW fight and it leaves the door open for a title fight at a catchweight.
