Paulie Malignaggi quitting is perhaps the greatest news that the sport can receive. The sport needs less talentless, arrogant little guido's taking up tv dates that they don't deserve.

Malignaggi should have retired after losing to a shot, blown up lightweight.Instead,he threw a temper tantrum and got an undeserved rematch and won over a disinterested, shot, blown up lightweight.

Malignaggi never had the balls to give a rematch to herman ngoudjo.Perhaps Ngoudjo's greatest mistake was not conducting himself like an immature, spoilt child.

Anytime Malignaggi steps up in class against an exceptional, live talent, then he is always going to fail.

Contrary to popular belief,Malignaggi doesn't have heart. He put in another gutless effort against Khan and practically invited Steve Smoger to step in and save his sorry arse.

    Good riddance.

      Thats funny Switch!

****m, definately.... Roach, not so much... based on the fact that he has a hard enough time speaking, coupled with the fact that he himself admitted that he gets too nervous giving interviews and being in front of the cameras- he would not make for a great commentator IMO.
I would rather hear Nate Campbell commentating than Paulies 100 mph fast talking, although I think Nate is a little too jaded to simply offer an analogy of the current fight going on, but you never know.

I think Roach speaks honestly without a lot of hyperbole, like the Mayweathers or someone like Paulie, who I get the feeling just enjoys the sound of his own voice most of the time.

Roach is very intuitive as a trainer which in my estimation is what sets him apart from other trainers, with the exception of maybe Manny Steward. Roach can explain to the audience the how and why of how a fight is unfolding, granted his health problems might be hard to initially get by on camera, but his boxing knowledge can get us to look past that I believe. Nate is great but again sometimes he talks just to talk, where as Naz or Roach talk to make a point and generally for the most part Roach is usually spot on, best trainer in the biz.

Him and Campell need to retire. I hate it when these guys that are either shot or powerless are used as stepping stones at the network's expense. And then they wonder why they don't have the money to buy better fights like Caballero-Gamboa and Peterson-Soto.
