something like taht.....the winner can challenge Floyd maybe???

the winner of a 140 lbs tourney would be an acceptable opponent for floyd, but that will take while. we are talking about floyd's next fight in 2010. I think a fight w/ martinez is a no brainer

also, floyd can fight anyone and make money. and also sergio was just in a FOTY type fight w/ pwill. trust me, this fight will sell.
I didn't say it wouldn't sell... It isn't the highest selling fight out there for him. I like sergio and I as a boxing fan hope this fight does happen, however if Manny and Floyd fight the winner will be touted as the undisputed fighter of the decade... Sergio is a good fight for a resume. He is a tough fighter and legitimate threat, but he will not be the fight to stand out on his resume over all, but Manny would.

pwill / floyd would also be a good fight, but pwill doesn't really have anything floyd might want. martinez has belts at 154 and 160 lbs. martinez can weigh 154 and floyd can weigh 150 lbs and the MW crown would still be on the line. IMHO for floyd to come up from 130 lbs to fight for the 160 lbs title would be an epic feat.

The fight should happen at 154 lbs with the 160 lbs title on the line (IMHO, floyd should pay for it). Floyd can weigh whatever he wants (he's around 160 lbs anyways) and the lowest he can make martinez go is 154 lbs.

Style match up: I think floyd has the better technique, but martinez's unorthodox technique might throw floyd off for a couple rounds. I definitely don't see floyd walking down martinez like he did mosley, I think we are gonna see the return of floyd's footwork in this one. Advantage Floyd.

Size match up: They're about the same size, but martinez will probably have 5-10 lbs on floyd. nothing floyd can't handle. plus floyd is probably as strong as martinez anyways. Slight advantage to Martinez.

Conditioning: I don't think martinez's conditioning is as good as floyd's. he takes breaks and fades in the middle rounds to catch his second wind. Floyd is always calm and now that he's taking his time and not throwing many punches he'll have the advantage. If Floyd can really push the pace in the middle rounds sergio will be in trouble because he fades.

Chin: Martinez was taking pavlik's punches well. Floyd chin is average, but his conditioning allows him to survive shots that other people probably couldn't take. I think martinez hits harder than mosley, but he's gonna have to put together punches to really hurt floyd.

BOTTOMLINE: GREAT FIGHT! MAKE IT HAPPEN BITCHES!
              Martinez is ducking PAC??!! GTFO...

Still it would be far more interesting as a challenge to PBF...

Roach is saying PBF was slower and flatfooted...LOL

                  because floyd is ducking pac

next best fight is floyd vs martinez.

I have to agree that it does look real unlikely. Like I said sergio is a good fight, but floyd can fight whomever he wants. He gets all the offers. it is frustrating as a fan to see him not take the top flight competition. I think shane was a step in the right direction though. I seriously hope as a fan that he would take this fight, but it certainly isn't going to seal his legacy like manny would.
