biased crowd eh? although i would slightly favor floyd over pac if that fight were to happen, i dont understand how people seem to find it so one-sided.... history shows that in-fighters can handle out-fighters with proper approach & tenacity (frazier vs ali)... yes, manny gets hit way too much... and DOES have a size disadvantage, but it doesnt ever seem to be a problem... so no excuses. but to claim he doesnt have a jab? c'mon now... watch the pac/cotto fight again. his jab was pretty active, and he used it to set up 3-4 punch combos... coming from ALL angles. dont let your biases blind you. give the man some credit. his footwork is good too. he darts in & out effectively and bobs & weaves with the best of them. for a "one-dimensional" fighter, manny covers the basics pretty well.
that being said, floyd is a technical genius & is lightyears ahead of manny when it comes to ring IQ & making adjustments. manny tends to be a throw-back prideful fighter (which gets him in trouble)... floyd always keeps his cool and keeps thinking. we already see what happens when floyd opens up... he gets rocked. floyds biggest weapon is the pull counter, he makes his opponents hesitate & abandon their jab... he basically does it the WHOLE fight... he waits far a jab, leans back, then fires his straight, then ducks out of harms way of a retaliating punch.... wash, rinse, repeat... we've seen countless times, his opponents seem to "give up" and drop their punch output. somehow i dont see that happening with manny... he seems to be stubborn enough and foolish enough to keep throwing. its just a matter of how floyd deals with the pressure and punch output... and whether floyd will open himself enough to exploit manny's gaps between combos... i think its fair to say that floyd has NEVER been in a ring with a fighter as dynamic as manny. and manny has NEVER dealt with a cerebral boxer who perfected counter-punching as floyd.... it all comes down to who's will is stronger.
