I disagree with the writer of the article, and I stated why before. Burner has already made some good points...

Lyle Fitzsimmon's article is exellent, it is fair and objective, unlike most of the comments posted in this forum. It is possible that Cintron was a bit debilitated by a Williams punch, was off balance and in adition to that tripped over Williams foot which prompted him to fall through the ropes and out the ring. He had no reason [whatsoever] to risk hurting himself by intentionally flying out the ring as some may suggest. Besides he was definitely winning the fight. A rematch would be the most appropriate thing to do.

we have all had the wind knocked out of us, many a time, you are still able to move
Rubbish. I fell off my bike once while cycling quite fast, and for a minute or so I wasn't able to move a muscle (well I was able to speak but that's all). Yet less than five minutes later, I was walking around with nothing more than a few bruises.

Your body anaesthetises you when something like that happens - it's a natural defence mechanism that your body uses when you've suffered a shock of that type, in order to prevent you from being able to, for instance, try to walk before you know whether you've broken anything.

And as for what the ref claimed recently, anything Cintron may have said in the first few seconds after he fell, he probably doesn't even remember now, and can't possibly be held responsible for.

I vaguely remember someone rushing up to me when I fell off my bike, to see if I was okay, but I had no idea afterwards what I'd said to them then, and for the first minute or so after I fell I wouldn't have known whether I was okay or not in any case.

So what the doctor is saying is bull****, because Cintron should have been given some time to recover before even being asked if he was fit to continue.

The reason the doctor gave at the time for not giving him any time to recover was that he believed he might have a punctured lung, so the doctor just makes himself look ****** by changing his story a few days later.

It was right after that when the doctor asked him twice if he could continue and Cintron twice said NO. It was not until after the decision in the fight was made that Cintron suddenly found the will to continue fighting. That tells me he tried to get a cheap win without working for it.
I don't assume any devious conspiracy. Also, after falling, and knowing he had 5 minutes, he could easily answer "NO" to an immediate question asking him if he could continue.

good point but he still should have got the decision.

And as a rugby player the same thing has happened to me more than once.

On the 2 occasions I fell off a bike, I broke something........

I'm convinced it was a Cintron plan to get the W. He took the opportunity and thought no one would hold it against him because he did win one round (it was 2-1 to williams). He could have continued. He didn't, that's the bottom line.
