Vernon Forrest twice? Winky Wright? Ringing a bell?

the mosley floyd fought is better than the cotto pacquiao fought....this was discussed before the fight.

what happened saturday, was just the result of an immense gap in talent. mosley is not over the hill, put him in there with any other WW, and he looks like a completely different fighter.

chris mannix, from S.I. said it best, " a couple weeks ago mosley was the best WW in the world....floyd beats him thoroughly, and now shane is old, and over the hill...mind-boggling."

While Floyd does deserve all the credit allotted for beating the best welter in the world, Mosley was the best welter in the world based on a fight a year and a half earlier, and that's the Mosley we had to make our prediction by. The Mosley from the Margarito fight is not the Mosley we saw against Floyd.

couldn't that be b/c he was fighting floyd, NOT margarito?

I can't stand fighters like Mosley and Clottey, they care more about not being knocked out then they do about trying to win a fight. Maybe you do get knocked out or stopped if you let your hands go, or better yet atleast you give yourself a chance at winning the fight if you let your hands go.
C'MON don't compare Clottey to Mosley, Clottey did that everytime he faced a great fighter. Mosley just did it once against the best guy in the business. Don't forget Mosley against Vernon and DLH. Clottey on the other hand landed everytime he threw punches whereas Pac was just countering with body punches.

I believe Cotto lost his punch resistance after Margarito fight, he was never a T1000 to begin with. Cotto was always an unstoppable force but FAR from being an immovable object. That's why i love him so much. Great heart, proud champion, talented and great skills.

I picked Floyd to whoop Mosley 10-2, you can find my quotes before the fight if you want to. Chris Mannix is a ******, most people I know were picking Mayweather Jr. to win, even the betting odds hugely favored Floyd.

Spot on Margarito was tailor made for Mosleys style. He just kept coming forward and Mosley could land his devastating right cross all night with his faster hands. If Mosley fought Mayweather on the night he fought Margarito i don't think it would have made much difference. Mosley didn't have the jab or footwork to really bother Floyd.

I think it's hard to say really. It depends on how Cotto looks in his up-coming fight with Foreman and if Mosley doesn't retire and has a fight, whether he looks like he did in the Mayweather fight or looks like a top WW. Because it could have been Mosley's time out of the ring and fighting a top operator like Mayweather or he could be old and shot (?). As for Cotto, he could be done after the Marg fight, but it all depends on how he looks in the Foreman fight.

the betting odds were the same for mosley-margarito....betting odds aren't a vital argument.

i had floyd beating mosley too, i thought he'd even stop him late. didn't think the fight would be 11-1 tho.

so we're in agreement that there was just a gap in talent?

Ok but then by that analogy Pacquiao dominated Cotto. Cotto beat Mosley. Mosley beat Margarito. So what does that say? It says nothing.

Pacman destroyed Hatton in 2, it took PBF 10 or so. Buster Douglas beat Tyson. Haseem Rahman layed out Lennox. We can argue all day. The truth is anything can happen at any given time. Anybody can get laid out at any given time. Look at the Super Six Tournament.

The truth is Mosley looked washed up. He even said he was tired in the post fight interview. Larry Merchant even told him how could he be tired after 2, he's been doing this for 17 years.

Most everybody thought Mosley would be competitive. Truth was he wasn't. However lets not forget he hasn't fought in over a year and he's 38. Time catches up to everybody and it caught up to Mosley. Just like it caught up to RJJ.

I'm not discrediting PBF. He was a great fighter before, and he is an even greater fighter now. Based on what I saw Mosley would have to be 5 years younger to give PBF a run. That 2nd Round was like PBF said part of the sport. He took Mosleys best hit, adjusted and "****ed Him Up" like he said he would lol.
