Would you bash Floyd if he decided to fight Martinez for the belts at a 158 catch?

when floyd fought oscar he came in at 150..if he ever fought at 160 he would come in around 155..he wouldn't ask for a catch weight..he never has...Comment

I would agree with you if a fighter was a natural at the weight division, but Martinez isn't a natural 160 fighter, he is a true 154 fighter, so there is no reason the fight can't be held at the 154 limit for both Martinez's Jr. MW and MW titles.Comment

The 145 lbs catchweight with Cotto's title on the line was bull****, I don't understand how they let Pac get away with that ****.Comment

martinez can come in 160 floyd can come in at 155 i don't see why people are making a big deal out of this, supposedly floyd already comes in at 160 anyway.Comment

I understand and I agree in almost every case.
Just that, Martinez isn't even a full blown MW himself.
But, there is no reason to actually make a catchweight in the contract.. I see no real reason for it.
But, if it DID happen.. It wouldn't effect Martinez the way I think it could have effected Cotto.Comment

If he wants the belts he should allow Martinez the option to come in at 160lbs. I can live with catchweights but winning a belt in a division you've never even fought in and potentially never will is just BS in my opinion.Comment

it states that a fighter is allowed to weigh UP TO 147lbs for a championship fight
which went directly against the stipulations Cotto had against himComment

Floyd's skills are not based on weight any way..he came in at 146 against Mosley and was clearly the stronger fighter!...some of u have bought into the hype that he beat JMM cause he weighed in 2 pounds heavier..didn't beat him with weight either..he beat him with SKILLSComment
