Apologies in advance, slightly off topic, but the whole moral issue brought up in this intriguing thread makes me want to post this here because it's a good discussion so far...

So I'm at a point where Saturday night is almost here and I'm debating with myself whether to watch Margarito vs. Garcia or not. Sounds like it might be a good fight, curious to see what Tony has left, but then of course there's the whole scandal.

I'm not even talking about paying for a PPV. Is watching it on a stream still "supporting" Margarito/Illegal handwraps? Can you say he is a disgrace to boxing, but still tune in?

I guess I know the answers already. Just curious what others think.

We don't watch boxing for artistry. We watch it for violence.

If you want artistry, go watch figure skating.

This is a pretty ****** thread, from a guy who is usually one of the more sound posters on here.

I guess the ******ity is infectious.

I'm surprised at you Libido. You know Tony is muy innocente.

Buying the ppv is the least you can do to help him make up for all the lost time they took from him making a living.

The whole thing was a damn witch hunt.

I can't ****ing wait personally and I feel no guilt whatsoever.

Yea bro I get your point.

I mean every time a fighter quits. We don't say he made the right choice. We call him names. We want fighters to go out on their shields.

I understand what you saying. I just don't think people really get the point.

Like margarito being punished for loading his gloves!!!

So do we draw the line at we dont care if these fighters get brain damage or worse as long as the fighter who did it wasnt on steroids?
I have to say that there does seem to be a lack of understanding of just how big a difference PEDs make in terms of performance. Surely many of you have seen it where a guy that had no business lifting with you, will go on a cycle and in 6 weeks will blow by you and by a wide margin. And that's the old schit.

But this is a Strawman arguement, in that the premise is flawed that we don't care if the fighters get hurt, hell even the TS doesn't hold that view and thus relating it to the line of reasoning: "as long as the fighter wasn't on steroids", doesn't hold.

But I do admit it does make for good forum fodder.

                  And it's clever.

I haven't read it, but basically didn't the TS say "**** it, let them take drugs and beat each other up"?

Dap, I'm just trying to come to terms with my own hypocrisy and conflicted feelings, bro. (ha ha)

This is what happens when I stop smoking weed on a regular basis.

But becoming a hardcore boxing fan can take you to so many deep crazy levels beyond the blood and guts. It's freaking fascinating. (I know, I sound like I'm totally dusted right now... I'm not.)
