Im glad someone brought this topic up. I been thinking about this.

If Floyd and SRR was in the same ring. The whole stadium would be in awe of the anount of skill and talent in that ring. People acting like Robinson walks through him with ease are ****ing ******. Floyds gives ANY fighter around his weight classa hard fight. Beating Floyd aint easy.

      Jro these are different times.

If Floyd was back in Robinsons day he wouldve been fighting 6 times a year as well.

      Todays day is different.

You called Manny Pacquiao a media created hypejob yourself...

What's so great about beating a hypejob?

(you probably wont answer me since you prefer giving me infractions instead )

Oh and SRR went all the way from LW to LHW and was competitive against the best the weight-class had to offer.

And, at age of 45 he was still a really really really good fighter.

And, who said he would of been successful fighting that much? I mean after 39 fights he had to take time off to rest his body.

If he was suffering injuries fighting only 39 fights and majority of them 12 rounds. How could be as active back then without his body breaking down?

He has had hand problems too. Is not automatic to say that well if Floyd would of fought back then in 15 rounds that he would of done the same. Because, if his body was breaking down in this era. Then he would of had major problems in that era.

Hes Top 25-30 IMO. The dude is unreal alot posters still dont realize that.
You're selling him short. He's not just top 25 of all time. I'm willing to bet very few posters on this site have seen a better fighter in their lifetime. The only ones you could argue were better in the last 30 years include Leonard, Hagler and Hearns. Don't give me that Duran nonsense. He lost all of his biggest fights as he tried to go up in weight, some by big blowouts.

Pernell Whitaker was not better than Floyd Mayweather. Mayweather's defense is just as good (how many times did Pernell get dropped?), and Mayweather's offense is better.

He's better than all of the heavyweights of the last 30 years, including Holmes, Lewis and Holyfield.

He's better than B-Hop (who even said so himself).

He's better than Roy Jones Jr. I don't care how much talent you want to talk about, Jones is not better than Floyd Mayweather because he never proved it in the ring.

I'd be happy to debate any of this with anybody. I happen to put Floyd above Hagler and Hearns. I'm pretty sure I put him above Leonard as well.

You can probably count on your fingers the number of fighters better than Floyd all time.

But don't start counting toes because you're kidding yourself.

I knew you would say this. I was prepared. What if Robinson fought today? We all know he loved money probably just as much as Floyd did. Wouldnt he take his time let fights build up go on the tours, do the press conferences etc..Its a different day and era. Robinson would not have all those fights in todays age.

                      I agree 100%. When I said Top 25-30 I meant greatness wise.

But skill wise. Nope. Ther isnt a fighter better then him. He doesnt exist.
