If anything this era is the weakest in most weights apart from Welter when compared to previous eras.
Klitschkos would whoop some of the greats of the past. And even some of them have came out and admit that the Klitschkos would give them a fight, only racists deny that. Some ppl underrate the present, and some overrate the past. But I also think its not fair to compare either of them since the fighters of the present who take the sport serious definitely have training advantages of the fighters of the past.

        And BINGO was his name.

The same thing holds back either side of the argument - most of us simply don't know because we haven't seen enough watchable material of these guys in their primes.

Would that past generations had been able to perfectly capture fights for all forseeable eternity and future generations like ours can. Ah well.

On November 6, 1946, Levine challenged Sugar Ray Robinson. Robinson claimed Levine hit him with the hardest punch of his career when he knocked Sugar Ray down and out for a 21-second long count.

Of the fight, The Ring Magazine wrote:

Sugar ... was almost kayoed in the fourth round. A left hook, followed by a right cross, both to the chin, put (him) down and almost out... Sugar rose unsteadily and called upon all his ring skill and stamina to last out the round...Sugar had several other close calls during the course of the evening.

these ww werent big.they were tall and skinny as can be.cintron, rito and paul williams are probally the biggest welters ever
Levine was a big middleweight puncher when Robinson was still a welterweight. Robinson said Levine hit him the hardest. In his previous fight Levine weighed 167 pounds. I was talking about welterweights.

I agree that Robinson, Gavilan aren't as big as Paul Williams but then we aren't talking about a match-up between Robinson or Williams here. Robinson is still bigger than Mayweather, not that size is everything, but it's a factor.

Floyd gets destroyed by no fighter near his weight class. He is much too skilled for that. SRR is the greatest of all time though. He wouldn't lose to Floyd or anyone else.

Supposedly, there was NO video footage of SRR in his physical prime.. everything captured is after his prime..

I myself can say the same. I havent seen enough of him..
                  BUT i can say this..

There are a few fighters id pick to beat floyd in the past few eras..

1 - aaron pryor - just tenacious.. non stop, can bob and weave and get in there.. can trade and has a sick chin..
2 - roberto duran - a huge lt weight and the same thing i wrote for pryor
3 - meldrick taylor - slick, in your face, fastest combinations ive seen on a fighter..

Abraham was measured 5'9 by Showtime. Don't you think he could hurt Mayweather? Not directly comparing Abraham and Levine but Levine was known as a hard hitter, fought up to light heavyweight, and Robinson took him as a "tune-up", which almost turned bad, but he overcame the troubles and came back to stop Levine.
