Cotto was a good win, but it was at a catchweight and clottey wasn't really a top 5 ww. I would rank berto, mosley, cotto, floyd, and pacquiao above him.

The ranking is right and most people knew who the real #1 was before the fight saturday! Just my opinion.

Floyd beat 2 Top 5 P4P fighters( #3 and #4) in 9 months, Pac has beat a fringe P4P guy in Cotto and unranked Josh Clottey. I believe based on this Floyd deserves to move up to the #1 spot. You can use all of excuses you want to after he beats them up, his competition has been superior to Pac's in the last year. Everyone came up with a reason why Marquez and everyone came up with a reason why Mosley would win and look what happened them both.

Shane Mosley was the #3 p4p fighter regardless of age. Floyd came out of almost a 2 year retirement and fought both of them and only lost 1 round out of 24. That is very dominant. KO's can be lucky dominating a fighter there is nothing lucky about that. Those wins are more impressive than cotto and clottey. Floyd was #1 before he retired Pacquiao NEVER beat Floyd so I don't understand the argument that Pac is #1 until he loses. Even if he's fighter lesser competition? You guys talk about JMM and Shane Mosley's age. Well if they are soo old and past their prime why did Pacquiao avoid a 3rd fight with Marquez and duck Mosley in front of the whole world?

Pacquiao never ducked a 3rd fight with JMM, so stop posting lies here. And I wouldn't want to see a 3rd fight either, unless Pacquiao went back down to fight JMM at 135, at 140+ Marquez would get killed.

Pacquiao also never ducked Moseley, he and Arum were trying to negotiate the Mayweather fight. Arum was also on record saying, Moseley just had to wait another week until after the Pacquiao/Clottey fight to get his crack at Pacquiao. I think you need your facts checked.

Not beating Floyd meant jack. If Manny had never moved past Lightweight a case still could have existed and still does. I think,. because they are the two best Welters right now, gotta' go with the better Welter.

However, If the consensus shifted to a Chad Dawson over the next year or two it would be because of what he did. He sure as hell can't fight Manny or Floyd.

Floyd's back where he belongs.

What do you expect? The writer prefers an American as #1. Floyd has fought an overblown lightweight and a 38-yr-old welterweight and then takes the number 1 spot. This is why we're being hated by the whole world. The writer did a great job trying to hide that though. Sorry, but Pacquiao is still number 1. And the world outside the shores of America more likely agree with that.

Manny Pacquiao is still #1 in my opinion and it's good that the Ring's top ten p4p list still reflects that.

I think Mayweather should fight Pacquiao to settle this once and for all -- and utilize stardard drug-testing requirements, not this Olympic-style testing unless he wants to fight Pac in the 2012 Olympics.

Just get in the ring with Pac.

I don't think Pacquiao deserves to be demoted. Pacquiao demolished Cotto when Cotto and Mosley were virtually 1A and 1B in the division and then shut out a top 10 guy at welterweight in Clottey.

Pacquiao being demoted is just wrong IMO.
