You said Conn was old when he fought Louis. So I assumed you meant his age because he certainly had not shown that in the ring. So please explain how Conn was "old when he fought Louis? I'll wait and I won't hold my breath..................Comment

No, you'll just create an alt and do it which actually makes you a coward. And you still haven't answered my question. In what way was Conn "old" when he fought Louis? I think even you realize by now the " Conn was a middlweight" comment was dumb.Comment

Man stop ****ing calling me that.
You keep ducking this post.
Tunney you are so paranoid.
Why am I HUGE fan of Pep, Benny, and Locche?
Huh?
So stop calling me racist, okay. Last time I called you out on that in the other thread you ducked me. You said I hated Euro fighters. Then I told you Froch, AA and Adamek are 3 of my faves and you dissapeared.Comment

Agree with everything but the last line. People discredit Marciano cause they believe he fought in a bad era.Honest truth: Marciano was an ATG fighter.
He was heavyweight champion of the world from 1952 to 1955, and went 49-0. He was an exciting fighter who KOed most of his opponents - two of his fights were selected as "Fight of the Year".
Rocky was a small HW, and virtually all of his opponents were taller and had a reach advantage. It was amazing that he achieved so much with a 67" reach and such short arms.
He never ducked anybody, he fought the best available opponents.
Sadly, some people hate and discredit Marciano because he was white.
Personally I don't hold that against him. He was an ATG for sure, although I do rank Ali and a few others above him.Comment

You always attack when I'm already fighting someone else, you cowardly scumbag. Then it's not a fair fight.Conn being a "middleweight" when he faced Louis must be some kind of revisionist history. The last time he fought at middleweight was at 20 years of age. He was 23 when he faced Louis.
Archie Moore and Ezzard Charles also used to be middleweights but no one in their right mind would call them such at the time they faced Marciano.
Conn was born in 1917.
For his first fight he was 135 pounds. He had three fights at lightweight.
His next 44 fights he was between 137.5 and 162 pounds, in other words light welterweight to middleweight.
His next 21 he was between 162 but under 175.
So most of his career fights were at light welterweight to middleweight.
In 1946, he was not quite age 30 but completely shot from fighting bigger men when he fought Louis, and in fact had only two more fights after that before retiring.Comment
