I want to hate Floyd, but I can't. He should be #1.

Oh, there are still plenty of reasons to hate the guy...

    1. The robbery over Castillo

    2. Retiring to avoid Cotto

    3. Retiring to avoid Cotto again

    4. Coming in overweight against (and even fighting) the lightweight Marquez

    5. Running from De La Hoya and turning what could have been a mainstream Rennaisance of boxing interest into just another snoozefest where the runner gets the benefit of the doubt.

    6. Fighing a 38 year old off 1.5 years(!) of inactivity.

But yeah, if you are a frontrunner who just roots for the fighters you think will win, Floyd is your guy. There is no question that he is a tremendous boxer.

Agree @ TS regarding Floyd's win.

Floyd deserves to be credited highly with this win. Aside from his better known skill qualities, he showed how he is highly adaptable with the fight with Shane!

Haters can be themselves but they can't take this win away from Floyd

This is one of the many reasons why i think if the Floyd VS Manny fight happen, and for Manny to win it, he would have to be a better thinker in the ring than Floyd because he may be faster than Floyd and throws more punches, but Floyd can completely get him out his game plan. We've seen that it isn't hard to get Manny frustrated, and for win to have a better chance to beat Floyd, he would have to be less reckless and throw better quality punches..

i was also shocked at the way the fight unfolded.

i expected it to be close, maybe half-way through, but after that second round, floyd took over, and just mentally and pysically dismantled shane.

but props to shane for being the first person i've seen, to literally have floyd on shaky legs. for about 30 seconds, i feared the worst.

            bring on PWILL for shane.

Why are people shocked? He was #1 over manny for a while before retirement. I just want to see the two fight.

Yeah it was a very good showing. I think his choice to press the action wasn't purely a machismo thing though and had a lot to do with keeping Mosley in range and where he wants him. If he decided to fight on the back foot he leaves Shane with more room to think and set his attacks up, plus Shane has that small reach advantage. It was impressive how he kept composure aftre being hurt and not only stuck to his gameplan but pressed it even harder.

And it's funny how you were once the single biggest enemy to Floyd fans on this board yet now you're pretty much a ***** in comparison to the people we have posting here now
