How many times are we going to see an overhyped fighter step up in competition and lose? Can we let them step up, win, and then hype them up?

great fight, it was close all the way till Montiel got inside and caught him twice beautifully on the chin. I actually had Hozegawa winning for agressing and pushing montiel back

proper stoppage, but i doubt that would happen again in a rematch. montiel might very well win, but it could be closer if hasegawa fights more carefully.

          REMATCH!

I hate the word hype. As if every fighter who loses a high profile fight like this was all 'hype'. It was one very good fighter beating another very good fighter.
good post a voice of reason ....

he didnt get exposed, he got caught by getting to close with his right hand left out in the open, he needed to keep his hands tighter after exchanges. if he wouldve made it out of the round the figth couldnt gone either way. Montiel was havign problems cleanly hitting Hozumi

Is that why he was winning every round?

                Montiel got a gift stoppage.

are you kidding me kevin, Fernando Montiel has beaten real extremely good fighters before like a very good example is martin castillo, martin castillo was a very longtime mexican champ, hcastillo beat your boy, mayweather in the amateurs
castillo got robbed in amateurs and even the mayweathers admitted

montiel is not no lucky guy and hasegawa is a very good fighter who happened to lose to another very good fighter

it just happens to be that youve never seen montiel fight in his life or you dont follow the lower divisions

                      ...to a montiel left hand.

this has less to do with hasegawa and more to do with montiel not getting the credit he deserves. in my opinion, hasegawa has shown that he can be competitive at the top level. he got caught by another good and underrated fighter.

you guys just can't wait for a someone to lose so you can throw the customary "hype" and "exposed" comments out there.
