props to Montiel, that's a huge win for him and he was an underdog going into this fight

Wow. I thought Hasegawa was gonna win it, but I thought it would have been a long war of a fight. Hats off to Montiel for bringing his "A" game to the scrap. I didn't get to see the fight, but I'm looking forward to getting a chance to see it. Props to Montiel though for bringing his lunch and taking Hasegawa's lunch money in the end.Comment

Lots of skill for 4 rounds here. Montiel set that up the whole fight, but Hasegawa was making him miss it and countering really well. Would love to see a rematch.Comment

People were hyping that Hasegawa cat up...
That's why he never came to the US, because he knew he would get the BIZ!Comment

Surprised people favored Hasegawa in this. Montiel was the proven fighter here. I had no doubt he would stop Hasegawa. I did think it would be later in the fight.
I hope people were not excited about the first 3 rounds as if Hasegawa was dominating the fight. They were both not doing much and there was only 1 round seperating them on the cards.
Hasegawa is still a good fighter at the top of the division. He just met a better fighter in Montiel. There is still some great match-ups for Hasegawa.Comment

Just watched the fight.
1) Good job Montiel keeping his composure after losing the first rounds.
2) Hasegawa was wasting a lot of movement. Although he tends to do that, he never was in with Montiel before. I wonder how it would have been in the late rounds. It's funny because in round 1-2 Montiel seemed to be the tense one, but the fight was shifting a little bit after that, and then he was the one looking more relaxed in there. I still gave 3 to Hasegawa. I wonder if Hasgawa looked more tense because he felt Montiel had serious power at some point earlier on.
3) the blow that started it was not what i would have expected it to be. I thought it would be a right or an uppercut, but it was a left hook. Montiel landed 3 good rights in round 4 before that tho, so they might have mattered.
QUESTION. Wasn't the position Hasegawa was in (kept up by his arm on the rope) demand a count? (like a knee or a glove on the ground).
Correct if I am wrong, but please answer if you know the rule, avoid running your mouth if you are a cheerleader of either fighter. Thanks.Comment
