Castillo's eyes were in orbit in the Corrales fight.
you cant judge if a stoppage was proper on how a fighter looks after the stoppage. the ref has to react according to what was going in the ring and what was happening was montiel was landing fast, power shots on a defenseless fighter who was hurt and caught on the ropes.

Looking at the replays Hasegawa got hit by the big left hook, his arm got caught outside the ropes, Montiel landed some more shots but didn't land all of them flush. Again, I don't have a big issue with the stoppage, I just feel Hasegawa should have gotten a chance to recover.

If this situation happened in the middle of round I'd have no problems with it whatsoever.

There's an old Chinese proverb - Great upset foreshadows Greater upset.

Terms & Conditions: When upset occurs, next event for potential upsetting must occur within 48 hours for proverb to have impact.

No it isn't, time of the round has to be factored into stoppages as well IMO. If the whole Meldrick Taylor-JCC situation happened in the middle of the round it wouldn't be as talked about as it is today.
