thats the damn truth, people dont realize that the REAL reason for success is GBP... do people honestly think that if mayweather promotions were to promote his fights alone, he would do big numbers???? people forget that GBP is cozy with HBO, has 24/7 on lock, puts fights in theatres, etc.... Schaeffer is no joke, GBP is promoting their A**ES off... also, this is a GREAT matchup.

arum failed manny with a shorter promotional period, no 24/7, crap undercard, rushed to sign with clottey.... on top of that, the allegations were tarnishing pac's reputation... bob arum saying f** off to the fans wasnt too helpful either. LOL. that fight was basically swept under the rug compared to the way GBP promotes.... so it really was SURPRISING to see it go 700k.

I agree with you, Mayweather promotions isn't even a real viable business, it's only star is current and active, beyond that it's shill company. Floyd paid a couple hundred dollars and applied for incorporation, but what has his company actually promoted without needing a co-promotional partner?

Floyd only became "money" Mayweather when Oscar invited him into that world, without Oscar and without the promotion of HBO 24/7, Floyd would still be doing the same numbers he did when he fought Baldomir. It's no coincidence that his PPV numbers went up the day he met Oscar De La Hoya and that's a fact.

Boxing is a business. It's about numbers. When this fight sells over 2 million PPV it doesn't matter what you or any other delusional hater thinks Floyd will be in a position to command a 80/20 split with unconditional random testing take it or leave it! Nobody told Pacquiao to find a no name nobody like Clottey! Pacquiao and Bob Arum brought this on themselves. The public was not asking for a fight with Clottey but they signed that **** anyway 2 days after negotiations broke down. Pacquiao made his choice in Clottey now he is paying for it.

This is a chess match between Mayweather and his advisors AND Pac and his advisors.... it has been fascinating to watch!

Every step of the way it has been back and forth... some times seeming Pac is making the right calls....(ignoring the PED argument, then filing the lawsuit, then seeming to get the public's nod that additional testing was an excuse, then immediately signing to fight a then highly regrarded Clottey, seemingly forcing Mayweather hand to take on more of a challenge then Malig, Bradley, or Hatton).

Where everything went bad for Pac was when HBO decided to back Mayweather with 24/7 and even though the ppv results from Texas were better than expected.... the Pac camp is paying the Clottey price!!!

If this weekend goes the way Mayweather expects it to.......Pac's legacy will be on the line if he fails to make the Mayweather fight happen....

1) floyd created the 24/7......guy.

2) manny's numbers went up after he fought oscar too.

3) oscar had his highest grossing fight......with mayweather in the ring with him.
