Why Isn't Floyd/Shane Sold Out At MGM???

Are we over estimating how popular this fight is going to be on a national level? Sometimes it's hard to tell when you are a hardcore fan, because of course you are hyped, but is the average American hyped?

If you are some idiot Pac fan who just wants to hate, then stay the **** out. I want actual discussion on this.

it may have something to do with floyd being a bore. i don't know but many of his fights end up getting booed by the live crowd at the end.

800,000 PPV with 2 non Americans, one with virtually no fan base or PPV history is pretty damn good.

What's the publicity like over there in America? Is the fight being promoted well? Is there a good sized buzz outside of the boxing world?

I think some of the people predicting 2m+ PPV sales are gonna be in for a bit of a surprise. It'll do well, but not record breaking well.

The average American doesn't watch boxing anymore.

Since you brought Pac up, he has more livegate numbers while Floyd has the bigger PPV numbers.

I guess it doesn't help that the average American-Pinoy household watching a Pacquiao PPV is between 10-50 people and that Philippines (95 million people) gets his fights for free.

edit: MGM has more expensive tickets than Cowboys, but Pacquiao-Hatton still sold out though their PPV numbers were only 850,000. Pac-Cotto sold out as well and sold 1.6 million.
