Still, either fighter can win and I'm a fan of both. I got some money on Shane, though.

He can do it with some nice counter uppercuts and some body work (like Maidana did to Ortiz). We all know he's not gonna catch Mayweather cleanly enough to knock him out.
Anybody that says Mosley cant win if it goes to the cards..... i think their thought process is a bit misguided. A decision for Shane is not improbable. To think the only way Shane wins is by knockout is a discredit to Shane.

So yes I'm a Floyd Fan. I think Shane is Very Confident. The mind games aren't getting to him as much as Floyd would hope, at most its highly annoying Shane.

I have Mayweather surprising Mosley with his power.

I think Mayweather is stronger than Miguel Cotto btw.
Great Post!! Love hearing Floyd fans that can articulate a legitimate point and not be afraid to admit when they see a threat in Mosley.

(This is what seperates true boxing fans that appreciate Floyds skills...... and Pacquiao fans that aren't fans of the sweet science)!

Like every other fighter who steps in the ring. Nerves actually can be beneficial to you to keep you on your toes and not so loose.

That's up for debate at least at this weight class because we've seen Cotto against the big dogs of the WW division, not so much in Mayweather. I believe he has power in the sense of breaking the opponent down like how Cotto does (or did?), but he really hasn't displayed that whether he chooses to fight that way or he simply doesn't have the power to hurt legit 147lb fighters. I think for Mayweather to really make Mosley feel his power, he's gonna have to take risks. Right now, I'm still not too sure if Floyd is going to engage or play the Sugar Ray role ala Hagler vs Leonard.

If he chooses not to engage an active Mosley (who is smart enough not to jump in and try to rough things up) Floyd could find himself on the losing end on things.

Would it be unreasonable for a fighter to be on the short end of the stats but win the fight against an opponent who chooses to engage as little as possible?

Floyd will need to be plenty active and in doing so he takes on additional risk against a plenty fast Shane..... timing is another issue. I just dont think Shane will be able to time Floyd. Floyd however should see plenty of opportunites to counter a Shane Mosley who isnt afraid to let his hands go.

The fight will be good for the first 3 rounds, then the fight'll get ugly for Shane.

I think that Mosley is vry confident about this fight. He knows that he is faster than anyone that Floyd has faced (with the exception of Judah) and has the chin and the heart to be in the fight. He has really good pop and he knows he will land flush on him. SO can Floyd take that punch? But in retrospec he is nervous too cause he has never faced someone on Floyds level. Plus he knows he isnt good at adapting. so what is he going to do if that doesnt work.

The thing I have a hard time dealing with is how people say that floyd is going to dominate. In order to get his punches off and dominate he has to take risks and once he does Mosley is going to tag him and hard. You all make it sound like floyd is going to get his shots off and not get hit. THe only time he did that was against a baldomir who is slower than Malasses going up hill

Judah had some success in getting through Floyd's defense early...... and to think that Mosley won't be able to test it as well is unreasonable.

Anyone saying that Mosley will be easy work for Floyd is being unreasonable.

The question is...... will Shane be able to land flush enough times AND will his punching power (being more than Judah...) be enough to get Floyd out of his comfort zone. Will this be the first time you see Floyd abandoning his plan and having to resort to opening up and trading with Shane..... possibly but I just dont see that happening.

No discredit to Shane but when it comes to ring smarts... I give the nod to Floyd... he is just too ring saavy to be drawn into someone else's fight.
