even though i think martinez beats him, it doesn't mean it will be a land slide.
I'll play your game with you, you remember what cotto did to quintana?
cottocop beats martinez, this cotto we've seen that last couple of fights, does not.Comment

I don't see this at this stage in his career...but you never know..I got to see him at 154 and wit the experienced corner to make that type of assesment..it's too early too call still..Comment

Just to clarify for ******s...CAN as in is capable of...not I think he WOULD beat him.
If Cotto beats Foreman impressively, at this stage in his career, why not try and grab the lineal Middleweight crown?
Before I get called a "stan"....although I'd be surprised if I was as most know me...I think Cotto gets absolutely mauled by pretty much all of the top guys at 154-160.....PWill, Pavlik, Angulo, Kirkland...those guys all brutally stop Cotto.
Martinez's style is one that gives Cotto a chance. He's bigger but he doesn't use his size...he's not a volume puncher or that big of a puncher.
Cotto has trouble with big pressure fighters and/or fighters who throw a lot.
Now before people make the Pacquiao comparison....Martinez is not as fast(his hand speed is SEVERELY overrated) and he doesn't throw 5 and 6 punch combinations like Pacquiao.
Martinez is also nowhere near as slick as people make him out to be. Freaking Kelly Pavlik landed 45% of his power punches on him. Cotto is more accurate than Pavlik and Williams.
I'm not saying Cotto would beat Martinez. If I had to pick, even if Cotto carries 154 well, I'd still probably pick Martinez.
But it's a winnable fight, and if Cotto won it'd be an ideal way to go out for him.Comment

Actually, you are not the only 1. Well, me too. Lolz. I'm waiting after the foreman fight before I would have said it though. Who knows how Cotto would look on his return.Comment
