The fact some people on here are picking Foreman (yeah Foreman lol) to beat Cotto, it really shows you how underated Cotto has got on Boxingscene since his recent ass whooping by Pacquiao.

Cotto may not be a natural 154 pounder but it's not like Foreman imposes his size, the guy boxes on the outside only.

Cotto has only ever showed problems against volume punchers (Pacquiao) and pressure fighters (Margarito) who were able to expose his lack of stamina and average punch resistance. Foreman lacks power and isn't a volume puncher.

So Foreman doesn't use his size, hasn't got much power and doesn't throw alot of punches. That doesn't sound like a guy who can beat Cotto to me.

What Foreman does do is move alot which may make Cotto look badish but i don't see him landing anything effective. I see Cotto landing the big shots and controlling the fight with his jab. Cotto wins a decision or stops Foreman late.

Regarding a Cotto - Martinez fight, i got Martinez. 160 is too big for Cotto. Martinez is a natural 154 pounder but he has twice the skillset Foreman has.

Martinez is hittable though, Cotto has a chance there i suppose.

i love how underrated Miguel is these days.
If Cotto impresses against Foreman i believe he would have a shot against Martinez as well. Styles make fights and i agree 100% with the TS.

Exactly. Finally someone who see's what I'm saying.

Martinez doesn't possess the things that we have seen give Cotto trouble.

And let's remember....Martinez is as much of a middleweight as Cotto is a junior middleweight....

Martinez>Cotto, but i see what your trying to say, Martinez is really really fast at his weight, cotto im sure will be stronger but more slower.

I agree. Cotto has never done great against volume punchers or guys that bully him around and he has had success against speedy boxers. I would give Cotto a good chance against Martinez, and I LOVE Martinez.

This goes to show that Cotto's supporters are on a war path now that Emmanuel Steward is back in Miguel's corner. Gives them hope. Even his non-biased supporters still think he can beat A-level fighters. Aint happening. And if Martinez was able to cut Pavlik, what the fuck do you think he would do to Cotto? Jesus, some people don't know how to analyze things around here.

My Homie dont waste your time, this cats are a bunch of morons bandwagoners. They think because B fighter beat A fighter, then he beats C, D and E fighter easy.

They dont understand, Styles and circumstances makes fights.

I know where you comming from, Ill still pick, Martinez, but Cotto definetly can do the job

Agree with every word. And I LOVE Martinez as well.

Martinez gives rounds away man, I have yet to see a comprehensive argument against what I've said. Just people who go "Oh Martinez beat Pavlik how could Cotto have a shot against him".

And for the record....I still favor Martinez. But I've been saying all along, that the only top guy at 154-160 that Cotto would have a chance to beat is Martinez. And now that Martinez holds the lineal title, I wanna see it.

Another thing is that if Cotto weights 160+ pounds fight night, how much of a size advantage will Sergio have 2 or 3 pounds?
