Rome I think that is total BS! Everybody talks about how Floyd struggled at 135 with Castillo but then they say a young lion at 140 is too green for Floyd? Cotto fought Corley @140 just like Floyd did. Why not just say they knew Floyd would wax that ass at 140 and wanted no part of him cause that's what really happened.

Lol Dude when May fought JLC Cotto was not even a name to be talk of with Floyd so I'm a lil confused about your point here.Floyd had won belts in two different weightclasses No?Cotto did not even have a belt yet.Chop Chop fought May first right.so once again i don't understand your point.Bottom line the time to fight Cotto was after the Hatton fight.But he Proved all he had to in the sport of boxing.

i feel you on that... but the #2 p4p guy was effective at lightweight. everyone knew that was a mismatch... people just had so much respect for jmm thats why they convinced themselves he had a chance... p4p or not, thats the reason we have weight classes... the size difference between jmm & floyd was VERY noticeable. its not like jmm had a few fights as a WW to prep before floyd.... he jumped up and fought the most talented/skilled welters immediately (obviously for a paycheck...)

lets not kid ourselves, jmm wasnt exactly "avoided".... he was very capable of holding his own, but he was already considered passed his prime.

But remember PBF, Shane, Pac and Oscar all came up from 130/135. That last time people underestimated Pac he beat Oscar so I think a lot of people didnt know how that fight would go. Many picked Marquez to win.

People don't understand. That's the reason why he came back to fight Shane, Pac, Williams, Cotto but they have to wanna fight him too for those fights to get made. Who else would he fight if he didnt fight these guys. Dude came back and fought the #2 P4P guy. People talk a lot of sh-- but who else was lining up to fight Marquez?

If the fight doesnt happen will I be disappointed.. of course but really Im tired of the circus and both fighters can go on to accomplish other great things... Personally, I want Packy & JMM to get it on again.. that fight would be HUGE for Packy and it would probably outsell Mayweather-marquez.. Than I want Mayweather vs Khan in England...

I dont care how open i am or how insecure i am. I dont think its cool of you to go around bragging about how you get paid to do this and then try to hate on another poster by saying "well for you its just a hobby" when alot of these people here **** on you in the knowledge department when it comes to the sport overall.

You can feel free to criticize me, thats fine, im just telling you that considering you are supposed to be this "paid" individual who "has boxing in your blood" as far as posting goes, on top of being average, your arrogance should be kept in check since you dont exactly have a reputation for being the most knowledgeable individual here.

So while im am "making myself" look silly, thats fine, either way, youre a below average poster trying to make it seem like you are bigger than the next man because you "get paid" to do what we view as a "hobby". It was lame overall.

If you want to interpret that as being being insecure, i am completely ok with that.

And as I stated before I welcome the criticism, depends on who is doing it as to whether or not I'd actually listen, in this case you come off as defensive and making it more about "yourself" than the guy I was actually responding too (who went at me first FYI), which if you're being honest with yourself seems weak and insecure. I never ended any of my posts stating "going for the number one poster title championship", if that's the title you're going for then awesome, have at it lol. An online forum is a vehicle to express "opinion" and rebut other posters, you just seem angry and defensive.

As an an example the poster Sugar and I have gone at it a few times, but we ended it each time like gentleman, it didn't carry over.

REAL boxing fans wont discredit floyd if he beats shane IMPRESSIVELY. if floyd gets a KO, i think that majority of boxing fans would be pleasantly surprised. ALL of his critics will be silenced. so YOU should pray for that...
but youre telling me that shane handling a roided up vargas, oscar's golden left hook, & margaritos pressure is not enough for us to think that floyd stands no chance at flattening shane???? floyd better NUMB the F**K out of his hands if he plans to KO shane.

yes, floyd fought champions & contenders... but youre telling me there wasnt any ELITE fighters for him to fight??? didnt he retire when the WW division was stacked?

also, all the people whining about floyd not getting his "props" are the same people downplaying what pac did & finding excuses to discredit his wins.

I agree with this post except the whole Pac thing.Pac get's alot of credit a lil too much sometimes and he still has somethings to prove and the time is now for all of umm.But other then that great post

Whats your take on this fight? Im not counting my chickens yet but what direction do you think Floyd takes if he wins? We already know what direction Mosley will take if he wins.. (Packy). I personally think the megafight will never happen (too many egos).. I honestly believe he will go on to fight Khan in England if Khan looks great against Paulie... like to hear your opinion if you dont mind

Floyd will likely simply fight his fight, hell look for an opening and capitolize. I honestly think mosley will do what he always does and thats paw at him with a jab and look to throw something big, over and over and over again. Mosley makes alot of key mistakes, like closing his eyes when he punches, telegraphing his hooks and his overhand rights. Either way if it was someone other than mayweather it wouldnt be that huge. Mosley also squares up alot, its something you see even when hes throwing on a heavy bag.

You will also see mosleys timing and punch output possibly go down as the fight goes on. Again, mayweather will look for openings, mosley will likely have some mild success early, but mayweathers movement and timing will eventually annoy mosley.

People keep talking about how heartless and fragile mayweather is but we all know thats bull****, its mosley who has that problem, and if mayweather throws enough straight right hands to offset his timing and if mayweather fights him on the inside and outside and use his footwork to setup counters like i think he is, Mosley is in trouble.

Truthfully, mosley is just going to have to get lucky, because its not going to be his skill that will win him the fight. The issues mosley has have been there for years and its why he struggles with guys who either have good footwork (cotto) or guys with good jabs (forrest/weight/oscar in the 2nd fight), its his stance and his inability to move his big ass head. Hes there to be hit peroid.

i agree with you on that... plenty of variables in this fight. seriously, when was the last time a floyd fight was THIS intriguing???? im f**ing stoked.... shane is a big boy... no excuses.

but like what brother ****m said.... if the right mosley shows up, then it should be a victory.

My point is Cotto was a natural jr-welter and Floyd who hadn't shown good power @135 had just come up in weight to 140. Cotto's camp flat out said hell no we aint ****in with Floyd. They wanted no part at no time. Cotto never called Floyd's name. Floyd wanted Cotto to be a part of the Margarito deal also. Bob Arum protected his investment. People forget that Bruseles was Cotto's stablemate put in to gauge Floyd. Cotto was at ringside and said hell no I aint ****in with that dude. You can blame it on being green but I think it was a move similar to Shane saying he wants no part of Williams.

I just got back from the Berto/Quintana fight, that was a lot of fun. Honestly I wish I went to film school, that's cool regarding the C.P.A certification, my mother is a C.P.A as well.

So was I, I still don't think he's ready for anyone in the top 5, although he is a live dog against any of them. I'm not sure if he lifts weights to be that muscular or if it's simply natural muscle--I think it hinders him at times, he seems very tight and not fluid in movement.
