In many of your prior posts you compared the lack of criticism geared towards Manny as opposed to the criticism that Floyd receives, which you feel is obviously unfair. Now before you go into the prerequisite label of "*******", know this I'm neither Filipino nor do I take a nationalistic approach to any sport.
Do you think you can honestly compare the roads that both fighters have taken, without putting into context how long it took each of them to arrive to a specific weight division? Explain how the criticism can be equal with one fighter having joined the division back in 2005, with another who has been there for a little over a year?Last edited by switchsouthpaw; 04-15-2010, 11:42 AM.

it all depends on who the assigned referee is...
most officials should respect shane enough to not call a premature stoppage.
shane deserves the right to fight till he quits (which i also doubt).
as for throwing in the towel, i think brother ****m has faith & confidence in shane. i think he will respect shane as well... shane is a big boy, i would think he would let him last till the decision is made. IMO
again, this is all speculation that somehow floyd becomes some heavy-handed puncher all of a sudden... lol. or some super aggressive pressure fighter that outhustles shane.... floyds stoppages came from fighting slower fighters that couldnt time him and had no answers for his pot shotting...
floyds style caters to decisive victories... lets not act like it doesnt. its not like floyd is boasting an amazing KO average.

I try not to engage in posts like that. Each boxer/fighter has gone
the road that was meant for them. In actuality you cannot compare
Floyd and Manny at 147 because no matter what bigger names Manny
fought, fact of the matter is Floyd became the Lineal WW champion
of the division. Forget about the names Manny fought, Floyd was
on top of the WW division, PERIOD and Manny is not because Shane
was there waiting for him. If you really want to get technical, how
can you compare Manny when he fought one weak champion and
skipped all the threats at 135 while Floyd comp was by far the
better. I like Manny Pacquiao's style and approach but it is
not right to blast one fighter and praise another, especially since
both have done and gotten away with their share of things.
