Do people think Paul Williams will look dumb if Martinez beats Pavlik?

And the reason I ask that is because if that happens Martinez is gonna take a lot of shine away from Paul Williams in my view. Sure it will make people think more highly of Paul's abilities as a fighter. But I don't see any other big fight out there for Paul Williams besides Pavlik and a Martinez rematch. I don't see of how Martinez gives him the same deal as the last time they fought when that happens.

Just more of an example of how Paul's career is at a stand still because of Goosen. He gets paid decent from fight to fight. But he'll never break into the mainstream unless he becomes a recognized champ in a weight class. That's what Martinez is gonna do if he ends up beating Pavlik. It will take food off Paul's table pretty much. I think Pavlik would've went through with the fight if Williams and Goosen had been more flexible with the money split. Sure these guys like Burner can complain about how much Williams lost while they were scheduled to fight him. But at the end of the day, it's probably gonna be Martinez with those belts around his waist. Not Williams.

I like Paul Williams. But I think some of his most hardcore fans like Burner fail to see how ****** Williams is gonna look after this weekend. I think he would've beaten Pavlik like Martinez is going to.

If Martinez gets hit by Pavlik with some of the same shots P.Will caught him with he's not seeing the final bell...he better box more...Pavlik has one punch KO power...

You're picking Pavlik to win. Okay. But how is Williams' stock gonna rise either way if Pavlik ends up KOing the dude that gave him all he could handle or on the other hand the guy he owes a rematch to will be the one with the belts when the fight happens.

Why would it make Williams look bad? Williams beat Martinez. And Pavlik blatantly ducked Williams. Don't see how Paul can look bad until Pavlik knocks him out, but I don't see that happening.

Yeah, it costs Paul a big fight but one he was never going to get anyway.

Well if Martinez wins and then Paul rematches him for the MW title and wins, he will look smart down the line but right now......no, he should have taken less money as the challenger and not a world wide recognized name against Pavlik.

Styles make fights, and Pavlik applies so much pressure that most fighters break down from it. Pavlik does have to work on his angles a bit though.

If Martinez beats Pavlik, it only makes Williams' stock rise.

                How will he look ******?

What does Martinez beating Pavlik have to do with Paul? I dont see the correllation my dude.

If Martinez wins Paul will simply fight Martinez for the belts. And doesnt Martinez beating Pavlik make Paul look better since he beat Martinez?

Nah I'm not picking Pavlik but some think its a foregone conclusion he's gonna get schooled by Martinez...

If Martinez wins, let the rematch happen...it will make people say damn, Martinez beat Pavlik he really is a top notch fighter...
