Yea to me if Clottey was a really good fighter he would have won that fight, Cotto was in a horrendous position and should have stopped the fight while he was ahead. He did not and Clottey gained the advantage but he let Cotto off the hook just as he should have been stepping on the gas.

That loss on his record is a scarlett letter as to who Clottey is and why I have very little respect for him as a fighter.

If Clottey was bigger or a better boxer I would see your point but I think Shane while not being the greatest techincal fighter has enough ability to make that work against Clottey. I don't think Mosley would blow him out but I am positive Clottey would find a way to lose.

cotto got steward in his corner. if steward can help cotto w/ his defense and teach him how to conserve energy, cotto will do alot better in the future.

Cintron and Taylor improved after they split ways with Steward. Taylor's boxing skills and defense actually improved but his chin and stamina didn't. I don't see Steward making a big difference for Cotto. I really don't.

Clottey is not a good fighter. He has proven that time and time again. Just for Miguel to struggle with him says alot.

cotto is better than cintron or taylor.

the only things missing in cotto's toolbox is a defense agaisnt right hands and uppercuts, and the ability to slow down the pace of a fight.

if steward can teach him these things, then cotto will get better.

Also, steward should be able to give cotto a real strategy for winning instead of cotto's basic game plan of brawlling for the early rounds, fighting in spurts for the middle rounds, and running for the last rounds.

The one obvious thing I think Steward would do for Cotto is to get him to clinch more, that would help a great deal I believe.
