If Ali was at his prime today, he would be bigger than Tiger, Kobe, or Lebron

[QUOTE=Deedubbzz07;8038375]With his talent and charisma, he would still be the most popular and most marketable athlete in the world.[/Q

Alis charisva and charm would have America on its knees. Tyson was a top 5 celebrity while he was on top and was clinically insane, Ali would have been huge, huge, big, really.

I'm sorry, but you Americans need to understand that what is popular in America does not automatically make it popular on a worldwide basis.

Nobody outside of North America knows of these basketball players. The most famous basketball player of all time is Michael Jordan, and he's primarily known for starring alongside bugs bunny in Space Jam.

Tiger Woods is just a star of a useless sport that doesn't deserve the amount of television coverage that it does get.

Virtually every Ali thread that pops up has some reference to Joe frazier. Some newb acting as a frazier apologist because he saw a documentary that was sympathetic to ole smokey joe.

what you cats fail to realize is the difference betwen Tyson and Floyd vs ALi which would hurt ALI today is that he took a stand politically.

and if he tried to take the stand today that he did back in the day or anything similar. it would be career suicide. he can have all the charisma he wants, that **** wouldnt fly these days

not to mention, people woudnt go for his racially charged banter...not even the black community

Europeans are on Americas nuts and like what America likes. Why do so many of you spend billions on Hollywood films? Also boxing is a global sport, it isn't the NFL son.

America is not the world....he would be huge in the states but not as big and marketable as Tiger Woods around the world.....Woods has influence all over the world and there is a reason that a GOLFER makes WAY more money then any other athelte.

Plus Ali was mostly recognized after he retired instead of during his carreer like todays athletes
