Way better? you must be living in cuckoo land.

Neither of them distinguishes themselves as much better than the other imo, its marginal which ever way you care to lean.

Most overrated LW of all time, would get smoked by Mosley at LW and made to look a fool of against Whitaker.

He got lucky against Casamayor, got chinned against Corrales and has two decisions over Johnston whom whilst a good busy little fighter was certainly not elite, aside from that he reigned for a while whilst not beating many great names.

Ngoudjo, Hatton both owned him to.

First of all, I'm not sure what Hatton has to do with anything. WTF??? Regardless, I stand by my opinion.

Second, Castillo wasn't a big name but hardcore fans knew Floyd was in for a tough fight when they first met. Just watch his two fights with the underrated Stevie Johnston (no one talks about him on here I see). Those were two excellent, premiere fighters showing off great skill. Then followed it up with a win over Bazan and then gave Floyd all he could handle in two fights. Soundly drubbed a prime Lazcano and don't forget that Casamayor (a prime Joel!) was one hell of a fighter too! None of these fighters are huge names but in their primes, they were ****in good. And Castillo has wins over them. Excellent in-fighter, solid jab, good power, steel chin, just an A-class fighter at 135 when he was at his peak.

              Ray Mancini
              Alex Arguello
              Julio Cesar Chavez
              Roberto Duran
              Pernell Whitaker
              Shane Mosley

I would not pick Castillo to beat ANY of the above.

Wow. Just wow. So umm, can you think of any other LW's aside from the legendary kinds that would've beat him?

Furthermore, a well past his prime verssion of Castillo fought Ngoudjo and Hatton. By then, the countless wars had taken much out of him. you would have known that if you witnessed his bout against Rolando Reyes - his former sparring partner - where Castillo looked done. No fire, and unable to go toe to toe. By the time he met Hatton he was cooked - a joke of a fight that only a fool would've thought meant something.

I don't know about Mancini - I give Castillo a great shot. the rest of those guys are ****ing LEGENDS! My goodness. Ok, so Castillo wouldn't have beat Chavez, Duran, Whitaker and Mosley at 135. This proves what exactly? That he's not an ATG at 135? I agree. But he was an A-class fighter at that weight in his time.

Castillo has wins over Johnston(prime), Corrales(prime), Casamayor(prime),Bazan(prime), Paez, Lazcano(prime), Diaz(prime),Ngougo(prime) and many others.
Hattons resume consists of beating a past it Tszu, and a WAYY past it Castillo

And not to add further fuel to this debate but Castillo's record at 135 craps all over Shane's. Would he have beaten him at that weight? I'm not sure but Shane beat a whole lot of nobody's and washed up fighters at lightweight. His best opponent there was Philip Holliday and he looked like **** that fight. Compare that to guys like Johnston and Casamayor, Mayweather, Corrales, etc. Castillo fought FAR tougher comp at 135.
