Emmanuel Steward is getting ready to look like a boxing genius now that Cotto will move up to a comfortable 154 lbs. Cotto will not have to expend much energy making weight and I see no reason why he won't have a revived career at this weight class.
Cotto could have come in at 205lbs and would have received a beating at the hands of Pacman. Cotto doesn't beat Pacman ever.

Because Pacman can't make 147lbs and 145 was an equal medium.

Look, Cotto has made 140 many times, he said he was fine with the weight and felt great. He also gained about 10 lbs after the weigh in so he was about 154-156 during the fight.

I can't believe the Cotto fans are coming with the 2lbs as an excuse. Did you see the fight? Pac DESTROYED Cotto, it wasn't close man. Those 2lbs would not have made him magically beat Pacman.

Packy didn't exactly come out unscathed either. Many times he duped Cotto into thinking his shots were doing nothing. Cotto's lack of self confidence played right into his plan.

Pac was being hit and not once did I see him even buckle or seem to be fazed by Cotto's shots which to me was amazing.

Cotto's lack of self confidence came after the 2nd round when Pac's speed took that fight over. Cotto was actually fighting well, using his jab well but then Pac started timing the jab and countering and that's when Cotto realized it wasn't such a good idea to keep throwing it...lol

People talk about Cotto didn't have the right game plan but I strongly disagree, he was boxing perfectly in the first 2 rounds, it was Pac's speed that changed the complexion of the fight.

I think it's a thing where PAC has to put on 10 or 12 pounds before the fight cuz after he fights he goes down in weight And walks around 135 pounds and usually he jumps two weight classes most of the time..remember the oscar fight he had to come from 135 to a 147 and weiged around 155 or somthing at fight night..and that's a alot of weight if u really think about it..and didn't cotto say he didn't feel any different than 147 and thats hes usual cut in weight cuz he usually comes to the weigh in around that weight and he was very fast in those early rounds against PAC and he did put on like 10 pounds before at fight night...

Sounds like Steward wants to bring back the boxing ability Cotto displayed before he fell in love with his power. Pac and PBF will retire within the next 2 years so I think Cotto should go back to 147 and try to dominate.
