I give you that on Lennox, who I always liked, actually.
Vitali did a nice job on Sanders: great barroom brawl. Sanders said he'd been hit by harder single shots, but never by that many hard shots accumulatively.
I think Wlad didn't take Sanders seriously and was on an admitted ego-trip when he got KO'd by him. Big mistake. He could try to avenge the loss, but is Sanders still active? Maybe he could be talked into it.
Sanders is retired, and that rematch should have been made years ago. Obviously, Wlad didn't want it. That's why he let Vitali take care of business. There are some fighters you just can't beat, no matter what. They have your number. I think Sanders had Wlad's number. A rematch now would be meaningless, and it won't happen.
People always attempt to try to imply that Wlad's career is worthless because as a younger fighter he got ****y and got caught by a wiley veteran. Personally I don't think it's disgraceful to get KO'd by Corrie Sanders (or by Rahman, or McCall). It's just worth recalling that other
great heavyweights suffered similar knockout losses. It happens in
heavyweight boxing.
Gives the moron Klit haters some ammo. Wlad was a young HW going in against a very dangerous puncher at his peak and got stopped, altho not KO'd like Lewis vs Rahman and McCall.
Bert Cooper, a total journeyman, almost knocked out Holyfield at his peak.
Does that make Holyfield a mug?
These arguments are always happening here, does nothing change? I bet both fighters have forgotten and moved on whereas you guys haven't
You're right.
It's more about taunting than anything. The Klitards are annoying since they're always **** riding the Klits, so I piss them off in return. That's basically it.
But Vitali hasn't moved on, he always talks about Lewis.
While this statement is true, his was also...Haye gets hit too easily and is to small. WK will jab-jab-jab right Haye to death. KO by mid rds. Then Wladdy should retire or take out Potvekin...really there is no one else after Haye.

I'm not a Klit hater, I'm a Klitard hater (get the difference ?).
Wlad was WBO champion when Sanders sparked him. No excuses.
And Lewis wasn't that hurt against McCall, he got up before 10, and could have continued. Rahman really hurt him though. Sanders sent Wlad down 3 times (if I recall right).

If Haye fights the right fight, he can win. He has to be aggressive and quickly cut the distance (as he said himself), then unload on Wlad's chin. It is definitely a very hard fight (Wlad is). I say Haye handles Vitali without much trouble. Haye isn't that small. You can't stand on the outside when you fight Wlad.

And Vitali's punching power is overated.
Vitali is not a one-punch type KO artist usually, but a guy with this KO% can't really be called "overrated." He has the power to bust people up badly. Sanders said at the time of their fight he had bruises deep inside his ears, and if you watch the replay of the fight you'll see his one ear was shrivelled up in a grotesque manner at the end of the fight, like it had died or something on its own. Arreola was similarly bleeding from all viewable orifices at the end of his fight with Vitali. Sam Peter couldn't take any more of the beating and quit on his stool. I do think Vitali was a bit stronger before his retirement, but he's still got more than enough power to bust up anyone willing to fight (that leaves out Kevin Johnson) over a few rounds. But Wlad hits harder than Vitali --or anyone else, IMO -- does single-shot wise. Tua is also up there power-wise, but after watching his fight against Friday Ahunanya, I am wondering if he hasn't lost a bit as well. Either that or Friday has a helluva chin, as Tua nailed him with a few shots that would have put many boxers down.
