Taylor and Pavlik, sad to say... I voted for Taylor but Pavlik may be even worse right now. Taylor is done.

Most overrated American fighter of the decade?

As far as the list goes you can really throw a few names out right away. Toney has done nothing in the last decade except lose title eliminators and get stripped of his title by cheating against Ruiz of all people. His best win came against Holyfield in this decade. Wright and Jones Jr can be removed as well seeing as Wright hasn't really been considered all that good seeing that his only 2 notable wins this decade came against Mosley. Jones has only beaten Ruiz of note this decade and other than his fights with Tarver and Johnson this decade has turned into a circus show for him. Trinidad, Calzaghe, Lacy, and B-Hop? Fights picked at odd moments in his career I haven't taken him seriously as of late. Dawson has a ways to go and it would seem wrong to say he's overrated seeing as he hasn't had a big opportunity yet.

Now we get to legit contenders whose names have been revolving around boxing and making PPV's, HBO, and other televised slots. Pavlik has had a soft resume and outside the Miranda and Taylor fights has done nothing to solidify his standing. When he tried to upgrade his competition he got stomped by B-Hop. He is also one of the 2 boxers on the list who has been boxing entirely in the last decade with Taylor, who's big wins over B-Hop have left many feeling he'd be the next big thing. Well wrong. He quickly lost his titles, and has gone 1/5 in his last outings. They have been against legit competition but he just didn't live up to the hype prior to the Pavlik fight anyway. Tarver who has my vote as being most overrated has failed at keeping any momentum going when he could have broken through. He had the fights with Johnson, the trilogy with Jones that ended with no climax, the one sided losses to Hopkins and Dawson. Now on to everyone's favorite topic: Mayweather. Corrales and Castillo were his big wins leading to 2005 when the Mayweather Circus show came to boxing. Gatti, Judah, de la Hoya, Marquez. All names chosen to add substance to his resume but provided little to no threat. Hatton was a bit different as he was supposed to win, but Hatton at the time could have been viewed as a legit competitor.

Mayweather Jr. can't be the most overrated because it is obvious the guy has amazing skills and hopefully the Mosley fight will bring light to that fact. Hopkins has legit names in his resume this past decade but the Taylor losses cause reason to wonder. Pavlik is more hype that actual rating in my opinion. People like to see the KO's and he delivers, but he will lose against Martinez and his flaws will be exposed. The real competitors are between Taylor and Tarver. However, seeing that their common fighter is B-Hop and Taylor fared much better and has faced better opposition than Tarver I'd say that Tarver is most overrated.

Requested by Jrosales 13 since Tunney has him on ignore:
Zab Judah is the most overrated fighter in the last decade. Followed by Oscar De la Hoya. His best win in the last decade was against Vargas who Tito ruined. I don't see how Floyd is winning this pole.
