of this era hell nah
as a big fan of Floyd one thing I have to be honest with is the lack of substance at anything that truely would make him a great as welterweight
yes we can say he fought for lineal belt, he fought nothing but top tens etc etc
but what is missing is that one measure of greatness to truely seperate himself as an elite welterweight.......in terms of resume. He has no formidable challenger on his dockett because while on paper we can spin things to make it seem like he took on a litany of tough opponents we can see with our own eyes there hasn't been a TRUE challenge for him thus far
when your two toughest fights as a welter are 1. at 154lbs against a part time fighter/promoter and 2. against the 140lb champ who looked average in his debut as a welterweight well then you have some ground to make up frankly
However, the skillset is there and no one can deny that even his staunchest critics
but even his TRUE fans have to concede that Floyd still has meat on the bones that need to be finished before we can call him a great welterweightComment

'skillset' is not valid until proven...Comment

Cotto is quite considerably a lot better then everyone Floyd has fought at Welterweight thus far. That shouldn't even be up for debate.Comment
