Dirrell out of hospital in no time.

So Jermain Taylor gets KTFO and gets 3 days in hospital because of concussion.

Andre Dirrell gets illegally KTFO and has a full-body seizure as well as concussive symptoms in the post fight interview.

You'd expect Dirrell to be rushed to the hospital for a long stay right?

    Wrong.

He was there for a mere 3 hours.

NEW YORK (AP)—Super middleweight contender Andre Dirrell is recovering from a scary incident during his fight Saturday night in Detroit, in which he took a blow to the head while already on a knee.

Dirrell had slipped on some water in the corner when he was laid out by Arthur Abraham in their second fight of the Super Six World Boxing Classic. Abraham was immediately disqualified.

Dirrell promoter Gary Shaw said Tuesday that his fighter spent about 3 hours in the hospital after the fight and sustained a concussion or, perhaps, a seizure from the blow.

The scene that unfolded at Joe Louis Arena generated more negative publicity for a novel event backed by Showtime that has struggled to sustain interest. It has been beset by injuries and delays.

bat, you are REALLLY stretching here and it's a bit annoying.

Listen, I was personally with a friend of mine who took a nasty fall right on his head, he was knocked out cold. He was talking within about one minute. He had a bad headache so we took him to the hospital. They did all the tests necessary and we were out of the hospital in 2 hours.

Was my friend knocked out cold? Yes. Does that mean he had a concussion? Yes. Did he need to stay in the hospital for 3 days? NO.

Obviously jermain taylor had been brutally KO'd and was also brutally KO'd 2 out of the 3 fights leading into that fight. Totally different bro-ham.

It's good that he's ok first and foremost, it is only a sport.

I've had friends and relatives who was concussed. They stayed in hospital overnight.

Look Natas. This dirrell incident wasn't just an 'ordinary' KTFO type concussion. He had a full-body seizure as if he was having a cardiac arrest. As I watched it live I genuinely feared for his life.

And then they rush him to the hospital for 3 hours!

I'm not gonna make any judgments because I've heard of people who have bumped their heads, shook it off, and went to sleep. Never to wake up again, because they had some internal injuries you couldn't see.

Edit: Also, almost all KO's I've seen where the guy is out cold, the body goes limp for a few seconds.

dirrell did react badly to for just a short hospital visit but i beleive him when he says he couldn't continue . He was crying in the ring thinking he'd been knocked out and jermain's case was different , all his stoppage losses had been quite bad .

"The side of my face is very sore," ... "But I'm feeling pretty good. Abraham's camp thought I was acting. Well, you get hit by a 165-pound guy in the head when you're on the ground and see how you feel."-Andre Dirrell

The only seizure I remember was after Ingemar Johansson absorbed one of the hardest left hooks ever thrown (by floyd Patterson). It left his left twitching in the most sickening fashion.

Maybe. Both have to make it to the semis for us to find out though.
