Do you need to have a good chin to be an inside fighter?

You angle as you are inside and push back. The punching space you make it, you don't let the other fighter dictate the space. If the other fighter is a good inside fighter, body punches is a must. Control the shoulders of the other fighter so even if he connects he will be out of balance.
It is just not getting inside and throwing punches you have to have a plan including tying upComment

Lewis took some of Vitali Klitschko's best shots and stayed up, and Jones took some clean shots off John Ruiz and wasn't effected at all - so I wouldn't say either had bad chins.
On topic - Yeah, pretty much. Even if you have good head movement so you can avoid shots on your way in - as an inside fighter you are going to get hit on the way in eventually, so you need to be able to take the punches. As for Hatton, he had a decent chin. He's taken some good shots over his time, but his chin isn't so good now, probably thanks to it.Comment

The thing is when you get inside you want to let your hands go to get the other guy covering up and also you need to even up the score for what you probably took while getting in. If your gonna let your hands go you better have a good chin or the reflexes of prime Roy. I would say that an inside fighter needs to have confidence in his chin and be willing to take some hits to do what he does.Comment

I think thats pretty obvious to be honest.
An inside is more likely to get hit than any other style. If he hasn't got a chin to back up his inside fighting, he's getting stopped.Comment
