showed to be the downfall of his career because his technical game
got expose once his punch was taken away from him. Hatton got
outclassed and slaughtered by Floyd. De La Hoya is 5 feet 10 1/2
inches, weighing 160 on fight night and Floyd is 5 feet 8inches and
was weighing 148 on fight night so of course Floyd was going to play it
safe because Oscar still had power.
I don't know about those weight's being the fact that none of them gave they weight night of the fight.Don't matter May was masterful in both the Hatton and Hoya fight's.I will say this in both fight's I felt he was tested.Hatton made May uncomfortable with his foot speed and hand speed. And Hoya with his long jab.But May always did rise to the task at hand which is why I can't wait for May 1.This time I see things being a lil more difficult for him tho.

This is what Pac is hoping for so he doesn't have to face Mayweather.

I just don't understand why so many thinking (Not you) that Floyd
was supposed to walk through the bigger Oscar? Oscar outweighed
Floyd, had the gloves he wanted, ring and Oscar had the fame
trainer Freddie Roach in his corner AND Oscar used Mosley
as one of his sparring partners. Why shouldn't that fight be
competitive for Floyd? Ricky Hatton was on top after making
JLC quit. The same man who gave Floyd hell in their first fight.
Hatton threw his balls out on the table against Floyd and slowly
got beat down then TKO'd. I am curious to see how Mosley
          and Floyd turns out.

Manny must think because he just beat a defensive fighter by out punching him, that Shane can do the same thing. What he fails to realize is that Clottey is the type of defensive fighter that just stands there and tries to block the punches, Floyd uses speed and quickness to dodge punches and counter. That said, I think if Shane can catch up to Floyd, this will be the hardest fight of Floyd's career and that includes if he fights Pacquiao next.

You give one example of where defence didn't win a fight and think that proves it can't???? Mayweather has won 40 fights with a defensive style, and in most of them he won almost every round. Winky beat Mosley twice, and beat Trinidad, with a defensive style. Willie Pep and Pernell Whitaker are ATGs and had very defensive styles, especially Pep. To say defence can't win fights is just ridiculous.
