I been avoiding the B.Hop threads the last few days....I haven't really put my foot down in any of them yet......I'm tempted right now but I'll fall back and let you dudes throw rocks at the throne......the King of the 40 plus year olds of boxing wants to become HW champ......some historic **** right there!!.....Chad Dawson is one of the coolest dudes in the game personality wise....but he doesn't bring anything to the table worth getting up for......young UNDEFEATED lion with excellent speed and footwork.....above average skills, a cute resume and not so bad looking wife I must say .....but seriously, how can you honestly say B.Hop is ducking Chad when he's campaigning to fight a HW belt holder who's by far a more dangerous fight than Chad?!?.....it makes no sense but I learned long time ago that this is not the place to make sense.....you either nuthug or hate......B.Hop would beat Chad DECISIVELY imo......the same guys who says B.Hop is too old and he's boring, this that and the third are the SAME ones saying he should fight Chad .....like I said things said here doesn't make sense sometimes!!!

Have you seen Hopkins vs. Ornelas? I dont think he looked verry good in that fight, he looked great for a 45 year old dont get me wrong. Dawson would beat him now, Hopkins is to old. He may beat Jones but he will not beat Dawson, let alone Haye! I like Hopkins but nobody can stay elite forever.

Chad has beaten Adamek. Hopkins would never face Adamek. Adamek is the same size as Hopkins. Hopkins is scared of men his own size. He remembers what men his own size did to him in prison.

Hopkins shouldnt say some of the thing he was reported to have said because it makes him look like a hypocrite, He slam Mayweather regarding Mosley recently when Mayweather said the exact samething and Mosley not having any PPV leverage etc.

agreed on all points.
i like chad, i think he is a superior athlete with great skills.
however, he does NOT have that killer instinct. he is content to win on his bicycle on points.
he also does not have the best chin. i think hopkins ud's him, hop wouldnt be chasing him, but setting traps, and i think very well cloud may knock him out..
chad is ducking cloud, who is a very dangerous opponent

The same way Cloud is trying his best to get out of a fight with Glen Johnson, a fight that he may lose? Dawson has a fight signed with Pascal, who skill and resume wise is much better than Cloud who has potential, but is still untested (IMO).

I don't even think Dawson should be bothered with Hopkins. Hopkins is doing more talking than fighting these days, and i don't think he would get in the ring with neither Dawson or Haye (especially). Neither fighters are one dimensional and are both naturally bigger than he is ,and we all know how Bernard does against these type of styles (Taylor, Calzaghe ect). Hopkins looks his best against fighters who has one weapon that he can neutralize, and the fact that hes 45 wouldn't make it any better.

he was talking about Tarver. He said Tarver lost to a middleweight and then went 1-1 against Johnson.
Thats how i took that statement at least

Why would he compare tarver's record against jonson, he was talking bout Chad on that one ..

I think he was referring to Dawsons 2 fights against Johnson, that basically everyone really thought Glen won the first fight. So basically he's using the triangular theory by saying Johnson really beat Dawson (1st fight), a guy who he (Hopkins) KO'd(Johnson), who (Johnson) lost and won to Antonio Tarver, who he (Hopkins) beat (Tarver) by UD. I can't stand it when boxers use that theory as a reason why they don't need to fight someone.

What Hopkins said perfectly makes sense.

If the fight doesn't mean anything historically, then it has to be rewarding financially, and neither happens Vs Dawson.

If he beats Dawson, he just beat a undefeated guy with a belt, nothing else to it. Much more money in a fight vs Haye and historical value in winning a heavyweight title. And by the looks of it, the majority are predicting that he will get knocked out by Haye so it's worth proving critics wrong.

Either way he is 45 years old and excused from facing everybody, he is entitled to pick and choose his spots.
