the way I saw it, much of the media pac
got negative courtesy of the Mayweathers and at the tail
end of toprank promotion, Mayweather- Mosley started theirs. To post that much figure despite the negative publicity spurred by a jealous Mayweather is good enough.

they were also BEFORE he fought oscar....

      and did wrestlemania.....

      and did DWTS.....

why do you dudes waste time and post pointless **** like this? when he fought judah and baldy, he wasn't the level of star he is now.....

if floyd does 700,000 at this point, fighting anybody, you dudes would be calling it a "flop." manny does it, and not only is there excuses, but you dudes compare it to mayweather's PRE-DLH fights.

I don't see it that way. I see 51K LIVE at the fight being a GREAT number but that also has to do with it being in Dallas and not Vegas aka a casino. Still a great showing.

700K PPV buys to me is not great, its only ok especially with that much media hype behind it. I mean come on its PAC, I DO like the guy. I expected it to me more or at least give Mayweather a run for his money. Its going to be a blow out.

Sucks because Mayweather will say he's the bigger draw, has a belt etc etc etc. Its expected from him.

Fair enough but either way, what "they" say is bad publicity is only good publicity. At the end of the day I and probably many others had higher expectations from the numbers. But I don't get to bothered. MY ONLY concern with the numbers where that I was hoping Pac would have been able to compete with Mayweather's.

This goes to show who the real cash cow is. Pac fans are content with Pacquiao only getting 700K. IF Mayweather only sold 700K we'd be saying what the hell happened? That's the difference. The expectation level is much higher for Mayweather than Pacquiao. Let's see here Pac-Cotto 1.2 million ppv buys was Pac's best performance no? Didn't Mayweather do twice that? See the difference. Why are we even arguing? This is a NO CONTEST!!

This is actually great numbers considering the fight wasn't promoted much with no HBO 24/7, and about 3 months time to promote the fight. Also, Clottey was not well-known outside of hardcore boxing fans.

That's just a cover up. He wasn't in the ring by himself all night now was he? alright then. And didn't Arum say that Pacquiao-Clottey would sell as much as Pacquiao-Cotto? yeah he did. Pacquiao couldn't even crack a million. Well one thing is for sure. He can forget about a 50-50 split with Mayweather that is out the window. And he has noone to blame but himself cause he quickly signed to fight Clottey to duck Mayweather!!
Tha't for sure no 50-50, coz Mosley will beat your Boy badly...

It's far from lame. There is no evidence that Floyd would have done that well against Clottey, and I very much doubt that he would have. Most of the publicity said it would be an easy win and a boring fight.

May-JMM was similar in a way, but everyone was curious to see Floyd then because it was his come-back fight after a nearly 2 year lay-off. And JMM brings a lot more to the table than Clottey does anyway.

If Floyd fought Clottey now and got more than 700k, I'd be very surprised.
